Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) is an absolutely bone-chilling event dreamed up by Universal. And let me tell you, this is no Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. It is an actual scream-fest.

Halloween Horror Nights offers haunted houses themed to some of the biggest names in fear! This is not for the faint of heart! It is gore and scares and terror. In fact, according to Universal at Halloween Horror Nights, “You’re never quite sure if your spine is tingling with dread or sheer excitement.”

HHN also offers 5 Scare Zones! Additionally, you can take in frightful entertainment options. And, of course, visitors can enjoy a selection of Universal Orlando’s rides, dining, and shopping!

And, now here is a breakdown of all the Halloween thrills that await.

Fortunately, you will not have to wait long to enjoy all Halloween Horror Nights has to offer. It kicks off in less than a month!

You can enjoy HHN at Universal Orlando Resort on select nights from Friday, September 1-November 4, 2023. And, the night owls of the world will be trilled to know the event runs from 6:30 PM to 2:00 am.

Who Should NOT Attend?

In case you missed it, this is a scary event. If you think the photos are scary, you will DEFINITELY think the event is scary. As a matter of course, Universal cautions that HHN contains loud sounds, low lighting, and sudden movements and effects.

If your thrill level ends at (or before) the Haunted Mansion in Disney World, this is not going to be fun for you. Moreover, if you don’t like to be chased, this is not the one. But, if you love horror movies and a good rush of good old-fashioned adrenaline, you are going to LOVE this.

Most importantly, you should also know that Universal cautions against bringing children. Again, this is not a family-friendly event unless your children love this kind of disturbing scary stuff. In fact, there is a warning on the event information that states, “event may be too intense for young children and is not recommended for children under the age of 13.” So, enter only if you dare.

I am too scared to go! I would love to look at the decorations etc and special effects - but I would pass out if I got chased!

Thanks for reading Julie. I am pretty scared to go myself! I have seen Universal decorated for the holidays though, and there is some fun stuff up during regular hours. The scary stuff usually doesn't come out until event time.
