The creative team behind Bluey just pressed the pause button. But, that might not be a bad thing if you love the show.

If you are here, then you probably need no formal introduction to Bluey. But for those who stumbled upon this Bluey-loving corner of the internet and wonder what all the fuss is about, here is the rundown.
Bluey is an Australian cartoon series that follows the day-to-day lives of two blue heeler pups, sisters Bingo and the title character Bluey, and their interactions with parents Bandit and Chilli as they spend their days finding bits of magic in the mundane. Each episode lasts 6-7 minutes, and the WHOLE family can enjoy it.
Smashing Records
In fact, so many people enjoy Bluey that the little show has become a smash hit. Right now, it is the biggest show in Australia! You might say it’s the “Top Dog.”
And it has a huge following here in the USA as well. In fact, despite the fact that 10 new season 3 episodes just dropped on Disney+ in the United States, American audiences are already clamoring for more. Fortunately, one last batch of Season 3 episodes is already airing in Australia, and we can assume they will eventually make their way to Disney+ and Disney Jr. based on the show’s success in the States.
Why Production is Paused
It may be disheartening for Bluey fans who are ready for confirmation and release dates for season 4 to know that production of the show is passed for now. After working on the show for nearly 5 years and creating 3 delightful seasons of content, the creative team behind Bluey is taking a break.
In fact, in an interview with Courier Mail, Executive Producer Daley Pearson said that the team will be taking a much-needed rest after the hard work that has gone into back-to-back-to-back seasons of the show. He explained, “We are just going to get our heads on a bit.”
He also stated, “We have all secretly agreed with each other that we wouldn’t keep making Bluey if it wasn’t as good as the one that came before, so we want to make sure we keep doing that.”
And, it is true that most fans would probably prefer it that way. Of course, everyone wants more Bluey to enjoy, but part of the driving force being people’s enjoyment of the show is there simply are no weak links.
The whole series is excellent, and a good period of rest for the team will surely help to ensure that future episodes will live up to the precedent. Fans will probably agree that they prize the show’s quality over quantity.
Of course, even the best-loved things in the universe have plenty of critics. Although it is a children’s series, Bluey has been a focal point for both internet trolls and controversy and MORE controversy. These sorts of issues likely add to the exhaustion the team faces and contribute to the need to step away for a bit.
So When Is More Bluey Coming?
Rumors are continually circulating that Bluey is ending and that we will never have another episode. Pearson seemingly put these rumors to rest. He said, “There will definitely be more Bluey.” So, we know that at least the intent is there.
For the time being, no one knows when additional Bluey Episodes will be produced, not even the team. It seems that this break will last precisely as long as it takes for the team to feel rested and ready to create more fun.
In fact, Pearson stated, “Part of it is just not pushing to come back. We are resting; the more we ask ourselves (when work will begin on season four), the longer it will be, which is why I hesitate talking about it too much.”
The creative team behind Bluey is on a break, and it is uncertain when work on production will resume.
For now, audiences can enjoy the magic of streaming and revisit the existing episodes over and over. And, US audiences still have the final batch of season 3 episodes to eventually enjoy (although there is no official date for their release just yet either.)
