Nighttime entertainment is a great reason to stay late at the parks. However, Disney World just canceled one show this summer.

There are various nighttime entertainment shows at each of the Disney World theme parks (and even at the resorts). At Magic Kingdom, Happily Ever After is the current nighttime show.

Over at Epcot, Epcot Forever takes the center stage on the World Showcase lagoon each night. With Rivers of Light permanently gone at Animal Kingdom, nighttime entertainment at that park is seriously lacking. You will see a short projection show on The Tree of Life. It is cute but nothing to go out of your way to see (in my opinion at least).

The Electrical Water Pageant also makes its way around the Seven Seas Lagoon. It stops at the Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge, and Fort Wilderness every night. You can read more about this 50 year show in this post.

Hollywood Studios has Fantasmic! as the big nighttime entertainment. Read all about why it’s the best show at Disney World in this post.

In addition, there are two smaller shows on the Chinese Theater. The first, Disney Movie Magic, allow you to relive your favorite Disney movie moments with projections on the theater. Scenes from Beauty and the Beast, Mary Poppins, Guardians of the Galaxy, and the new live-action Mulan all bring the magic of Hollywood to the theater.

The second, Wonderful World of Animation, is a tribute to Mickey Mouse and other animated films. Hollywood Studios really does celebrate the magic of movies and the role they play in our lives.

Show Canceled

Unfortunately, Disney Movie Magic does not have any showtimes on the Disney World website this summer. The 12-minute show usually precedes Wonderful World of Animation, which still has listed showtimes.

It’s possible it’s just not dark enough at 8:48 pm for Disney Movie Magic to go on as normal. However, Disney also reduced showtimes for Fantasmic! recently, so perhaps there is something else at play.
