Marvel’s NEW Captain America 4 movie is on the way! But, what do you think of the HUGE change taking place?
Captain America
At last year’s D23 event, Disney hit the ground running with quite a few Marvel announcements. This included Captain America News. For one thing, we found out that America’s Favorite–Captain is making a return to the silver screen. This movie will be released on May 3, 2024.
The Cast is already in place. Tim Blake Nelson will return as The Leader. Carl Lumbly, who played supersoldier Isaiah Bradley in Falcon and the Winter Soldier, will reprise the role. Danny Ramirez will play Joaquin Torres and Shira Haas will join the Marvel Universe as Sabra.
And, of course, Anthony Mackie is now Captain America, following the journey he began in Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney+. Harrison Ford is joining as General Ross.
A HUGE Name Change
Originally, the film was supposed to be titled Captain America: New World Order. However, that title has been scrapped. Now the film is being promoted as Captain America: Brave New World.
The title Captain America: New World Order is shifting to Captain America: Brave New World.
Neither Disney nor Marvel Studios has made an official statement about the meaning behind the name change. However, there is some speculation that the title change is occurring due to real-world connotations. There is a “New World Order” conspiracy theory. Perhaps the film’s creators do not want the movie to be associated with it. Again, that is speculation.
The new title Captain America: Brave New World does have some tie-ins to the comic books, one of which was called Secret Empire: Brave New World.
New Captain America Suit
We also have a glimpse at the new Captain America suit. Marvel shared a photo that shows Anthony Mackie working with Harrison Ford. He is wearing a Captain America suit that looks like Steve Rogers’s stealth suit from Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Of course, there may be other costuming. But so far this is our best glimpse at what is to come.
