Guests encountered a new way of going through the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance queue, but is it for the better?
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Attraction
Located at both Disney World and Disneyland, Rise of the Resistance is the E-ticket attraction in Galaxy’s Edge. It is some of the best work Imagineers have completed using some of the coolest technology known to man. Rise of the Resistance is simply the best!
However, it is no stranger to technical issues requiring guests to evacuate. At times, the attraction doesn’t open for rope drop or may close down for periods during the day. The trackless rides are my (Susan) favorite, but they also have the most technical issues.
The Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance continues having the highest Individual Lightning Lane pricing in all of Disney World on most days.
Exciting Queue
When guests enter the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Queue, most people are in awe looking at the large number of Stormtroopers seemingly watching over the area. It is so hard to leave this area to continue to the actual attraction. To me (Susan), this is the most exciting effect of any Disney World queue.
However, there are First Order Cast Members instructing everyone to move along! So, off we go! After moving along the double-sided queue, guests are instructed to stand on select colors with their party. If you mess it up, well…best of wishes.
Change in Procedure
Today, our very own Kenny the Pirate reported a change in queue procedures. Before, guests could choose whether they wanted to go in the left or right side of the queue line. However, today, guests were instructed which side to enter, like at Slinky’s Dog Dash.
Rise of the Resistance has a new queue procedure in place now.

This nothing new. When we went on the ride last June we were instructed to go to the left side. We did not have a choice. My wife actually got reprimanded by the First Order for going to the right.

Best ride ever . Now for one it's not real it was a movie , fictional, and my six year old grandson loved it so much that's all he wanted to do along with smugglers run . Right SIDE LEFT SIDE , bot are equally spectacular. I do think to charge that much more for fast pass is a bit extreme. Especially if it for kids 12 and under. I say comon man mister disney I understand the need to make money but for people coming from out of state that's were you should give a discount . Those living close to the parks don't have the extra cost of hotel , motel ect. Car rental ect. . Just a thought . Either way I STILL LOVE DISNEY LAND AND DISNEY WORLD . Thank you Disney for all that you do .

While the ride is nice, the Nazi Symbolism is not.
Out and inside, "Stormtroopers" standing/marching carrying weapons as to act to intimidate, is NOT suitable for any amusement park, much less one with kids.
The play acting of those who want to bark orders at Guests, to make the feel as if they are taken prisoners of "the First Order" is way crossing the line for family fun.
"The First Order", or " The Third Reich"...
Symbolism is clearly parallel, right down to uniform styles with combat boots, skinny pants at the Calf's, and puffed out pants at thighs...
In an age where toy muskets would never any longer be considered acceptable sales in Frontierland, riding through scenes where Storm Troopers are firing Lazer rifles as you try to escape, with explosion scenes and implied resistance fighters who are killed, is way beyond acceptable.
This is not "fun", but more created for shock appeal.
Not much they can do about changing it, because that is the story.
Star Wars was an inappropriate purchase for Disney.

I hate the new way. The left side was 10% full and the right side was 90% full and they put me in the right side. I couldn't figure out the logic of which side you got.

I think the reason is that people only ever use one side. I used to love taking the side everyone missed. It was kind of funny seeing ppl behind me realize they could have gone there instead of all lemming it to the other.
