The Santa Clauses on Disney+ is Getting a New Star

Many people love the Santa Clause films and the Disney+ series. Now, a new star is stepping onto the scene for this popular show!

Disney fans were filled with nostalgic joy when the news broke that Disney+ was to release a holly jolly series based on the popular movie franchise The Santa Clause, starring Tim Allen. The brand new series premiered November 16, 2022, on Disney+, just in time to kick off the holiday season.

The new Disney+ Original series The Santa Clauses follows Scott Calvin (Disney Legend, Tim Allen) as he considers retiring from his holly jolly day job to be a better father and husband. But can he find someone to fill his iconic snow boots? You can watch all 6 episodes on Disney+ as well as the movies that started it all.

Renewal

In December, we announced that the Santa Clauses series was popular enough to be renewed for a second season. You can read the announcement here.

A New Star!

However, the second round of episodes will not be without changes. In fact, a new star is coming onto the scene.

This actor is not meant to replace Tim Allen. As it stands, Tim Allen will continue in the beloved role of Santa/Scott Calvin and serve as an executive producer. Additionally, Elizabeth Mitchell will reprise her role as Carol.

The new star is being brought in to play an entirely different character rooted in holiday lore: the Easter Bunny! Former SNL star Tracy Morgan will be joining the cast to fill this character’s shoes-or paws, rather. It will certainly be interesting for fans to see how the Easter Bunny fits into the storyline!

Rumor has it that the role could be a cameo. We will know soon enough as it is highly likely (though not confirmed) that the second season in the series will join the Disney+ lineup in November 2023.

The series is also getting a host of other stars including Gabriel Iglesias, who will play Kris Kringle. He is the owner of a Christmas-themed amusement park in Santa Land.

Eric Stonestreet is also joining the cast to play Magnus Antas. He is a Mad Santa who is coming to reclaim the job, which he held in the 14th century.

All this news has fans wondering if we will also see other characters from the films make appearances. Will Mother Nature, Cupid, Jack Frost, and the Tooth Fairy eventually make their way into the story too?
