Gently drift through a colorful Southern bayou along with happy-go-lucky Br'er Rabbit as he looks for his "laughing place." But be warned: Br'er Bear and Br'er Fox are in hot pursuit of this wayward hare.

Glide by over 100 adorable Audio-Animatronics geese, frogs, raccoons, possums, bees, alligators and other down-home critters as they sing classic Disney ditties, including "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah" and "Ev'rybody's Got a Laughing Place."

Then hang on to your hats-this delightful musical cruise ends in an exciting 5-story splashdown into a thorny Briar Patch!

Closing Soon

It has been a good run for one of Disney's most beloved attractions: Splash Mountain. The ride opened in 1989 and has been a favorite for many since then.

Back in 2020, Disney announced the retheming of Splash Mountain into Tiana's Bayou Adventure. While many remain conflicted about the idea of the new theme, there is no denying the impact Splash Mountain has on Guests.

Tomorrow, January 22, marks the final day to ride Splash Mountain before it permanently closes. Despite a bumpy week of extended closures and delayed openings, people have turned up to ride one final time. Unfortunately, Splash Mountain experienced another closure today, January 21.

Accident

On the eve of Splash Mountain's last day in operation, an unfortunate (and serious) accident took place. We just received word the ride was closed for two hours due to a Guest tripping while exiting out of the log. Cast Members had to close the ride down.

With the log and ground being slippery due to the fact that it is a water ride, it can be a bit tricky getting out. We are thinking of the Guest who got hurt, and we pray they recover quickly.

A guest tripped and fell getting out of the log.

Will you get to ride Splash Mountain before it closes for good? Let us know in the comments below.

  1. Just like frontier land should not be closed down
Mr Walt Disney must be so disappointed looking down from heaven in the way Disneyland is running now

  2. Lucky enough to go on a “virtual final ride “ via my host, Royce, who is an amazing guide and has such vast knowledge of Disney history and each of the rides. Very grateful for the experiences with Royce at Disney World this week!!

  3. You're quite sensitive sounding yourself if you think Disney has lost it's magic and you refuse to go there over a single ride closure. Haha. Focus on things that are actually important maybe?

  4. It’s interesting how you view a racially insensitive them as uneducated and misinformed. Your statement alone clearly shows you’re the one who’s uneducated and misinformed.

  5. I was a cast member lucky enough to "test ride" Splash Mtn before it opened. We rode several times on our lunch break, got soaked, had to change costumes to go back to work!

  6. Love love love Splash Mountain!!! It's a shame that a few over sensitive misinformed, uneducated few can cause the best ride ever to close down. For years my family visited Disneyworld just to ride this happy, positive fun loving ride. Won't be going again...Disney has lost it magic...Walt would not approve if he were here.

  7. Years ago my husband twisted his ankle in the Indiana Jones queue at DL. It was so dim he didn’t see a step. He declined medical attention, but we noticed next time we were at the park that the queue wasn’t as dark. Sometimes theming can be treacherous.
