Pete’s Silly Side Show has finally returned! While we are so happy to see our Disney pals return, we did notice something in particular about the PhotoPass at this location.
Pete’s Silly Side Show
The characters at Pete’s Silly Sideshow have officially returned to the Magic Kingdom! This attraction has been closed ever since March 2020 when the parks shut down. It is located in the very back of Storybook Circus near the Fantasyland station for The Walt Disney World Railroad.
Minnie Magnifique, Daisy Fortuna, The Astounding Donaldo, and The Great Goofini are all back to say hello, sign autographs, and take photographs. These characters all returned on January 15, 2023.
While the characters themselves are not exactly “rare”, these outfits they are in are quite unique and not seen often! These outfits are a great opportunity to update your photo collection! For many fans, it is a fun challenge to try to meet these characters in all the different outfits they wear.
PhotoPass
If you look in the app under these groups, it does say that Disney PhotoPass is available. Often times, that means that a PhotoPass photographer will be there to snap any pictures of your meet and greet and capture your amazing memories. However, sometimes guests are shocked to find the automated PhotoPass boxes.
We have seen these boxes in other meets such as Meet Mickey Mouse at Town Square Theater, Olaf at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Adventurers Outpost.
While these are fine to have pictures taken, it just isn’t the same as a real live photographer.
For one, it’s hard to really know where to look at the boxes, and sometimes the pictures don’t even show up in the app!
What is coming
During a recent trip, my friend and I (Maggie) visited Pete’s Silly Side Show. During our visit, we noticed no PhotoPass photographers were available to take pictures. Guests can feel free to have pictures taken with their own personal devices or if you ask a Cast Member, they will be happy to do so.
Another thing we noticed were the automated photo boxes. They were not functioning at the time of our visit, but they are definitely there and we expect them to be used at anytime. At the time of our meet, the machine where you would scan your MagicBand was covered.
