Muppet Christmas Carol 30th Anniversary
This year marks the 30th Anniversary of a beloved holiday film. The Muppet Christmas Carol is turning 30 years old!
Disney celebrated the anniversary at this year’s D23 with a huge announcement. A song that was cut from the original release has been added back to the film for the first time as part of the celebration.
Audiences can now enjoy When Love is Gone. The song did not make the original cut after it did not screen well with a test audience of children.

A Special Movie Screening!
Now, a special screening of the Muppet Christmas Carol is coming to Walt Disney World! The film is coming to Disney Springs! It will be available at the AMC Disney Springs 24.
This special event will happen on December 4, 2022. It is a D23 member exclusive; however, you do not have to be a D23 Gold Member to attend. D23 general members can attend as well! All members can purchase up to 3 guest tickets for their family and friends as well.
While the D23 Gold membership has a fee, the D23 General membership is free! However, D23 Gold Members do get a discount.
Pricing is as follows: Gold Member: $24.99 (plus $7 processing fee) per person. General Member: $34.99 (plus $7 processing fee) per person.
Check-in begins at 10 a.m. at AMC Disney Springs. The behind-the-scenes presentation and Ugly Sweater Showcase starts at 10:30 a.m., and the screening of The Muppet Christmas Carol starts at 10:50 a.m.
What’s Included?
Attendees get some exclusive swag included with the experience. According to D23’s website, “D23 members and their guests will receive their very own Christmas caroling book to help them sing along with the classic songs before heading into the AMC Disney Springs 24 theater to commemorate 30 years of this heartwarming and Muppet-ational classic.
Just before the film begins, the D23 team will offer up an exclusive behind-the-scenes presentation filled with fun facts about this holiday classic; additionally, guests will have the chance to show off their ugliest holiday sweaters during our Ugly Sweater Showcase! And after the sing-along screening, guests will enjoy a specialty sweet treat from Disney Springs’ own Gideon’s Bakehouse.”
What could be better than Muppets and Gideon’s Bakehouse? As if that this not enough, there is more! Guests receive a special commemorative ornament and a medium fountain beverage.
Guests must be present to receive the gifts and food offerings. Additionally, members must provide a member number when purchasing tickets.
