We finally have an opening timeframe for Disney’s TRON! See when the highly anticipated attraction will finally be opening.
Tron Lightcycle Power Run roller coaster was first introduced to guests at Shanghai Disneyland Resorts. In this thrilling attraction, riders hop aboard motorcycle style ride vehicles as they speed through the dark ride. It is all the more thrilling because it is one of the fastest indoor coasters in the history of Disney’s parks.
The attraction is based on Disney’s 1982 film TRON. The movie has the distinction of being the first film to combine live-action sequences with computer-generated and animated elements.
TRON was announced back in 2017. Disney has remained pretty quiet on its progress, though we have seen a few clues here and there with its construction. Some construction updates we have seen relate to the attraction itself, the completion of the Walt Disney World Railroad, lighting updates, and the Tomorrowland Light and Power gift shop. With the latest construction being done on the gift shop, we have already guessed it might open after November.
During today’s D23 Expo Event, Disney has announced exciting updates for their parks. Today, an opening timeline has finally been revealed. It has been a long time coming and we are so excited to share that Tron will be opening to guests in the spring of 2023.
Disney’s TRON will open to guests at the Magic Kingdom spring 2023!
No details relating to any previews have been determined at this time, but be sure to check back as those will surely be announced at a later date if Disney decides to have any.
