Another Great Character returns to Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Characters Returning

Characters are returning in a BIG way this summer. Recently, Disney Parks shared that more characters will return to Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Earlier we shared that at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Star Wars Launch Bay would reopen on July 17th. A celebration of the legendary space saga, Star Wars Launch Bay is your place for a warm embrace with Chewbacca, a face-to-droid encounter with BB-8, or a run-in with Darth Vader himself for those brave enough.

Guests visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios on July 10th were delighted to discover that Star Wars Launch Bay was open. According to Disney guests, both Darth Vader and Chewbacca were present and greeting guests at Star Wars Launch Bay. This was a whole week sooner than previously announced.

Return of BB-8

The one character that was missing from this early opening was our favorite droid, BB-8. I (Donna) have never met BB-8 and can’t wait to interact with this fun-loving droid during my next trip to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Due to the unique nature of BB-8, he is displayed on a pedestal and whirls and beeps to interact with guests.

Guests can now meet BB-8 at Star Wars Launch Bay from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm daily.

Guests can have photos taken next to him while at Star Wars Launch Bay. BB-8 greets guests from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm daily. At the time of this writing, wait times were around 25 minutes to meet this fun sidekick.
