The mask mandates have almost all been lifted. However, you still have to wear them on public transportation, and now you will have to wear them a little longer. See when mandate expires now and how it will affect your Disney trip.
Mask Mandates
All theme parks that have reopened have made changes to what our new normal looks like. We have seen temperature screenings, social distancing, and all kinds of mask policies. Who would have thought that these words would become part of our vocabulary? I certainly did not!
Last spring, we saw the face mask policy change. Many places allowed masks to be removed outdoors. Then came a complete drop of the masks, indoors and outdoors for vaccinated Guests. This was an amazing change for all those summer vacationers.
It is hot in Florida during the summer without a mask. This change let guests decide on their own if they wanted to wear a mask or not.
Mask Mandate Lifted
Since February 17, face coverings are no longer required for fully vaccinated Guests in both indoor and outdoor locations. Face masks will still be required on Disney transportation like buses, the monorail, and skyliner.
However, there are two indoor locations that guests still need to wear masks. These include First aid Centers and Shades of Green.
TSA Extending Mask Mandate
According to a White House official and a TSA offial the TSA (Tranportation Security Administration) is to extend the mask mandate for planes and public transportation until April 18th. The current mask mandate was set to expire on March 18th.
The Current Mask Mandate expires on March 18th. The TSA will extend the Mask Mandate to April 18th.
Per a White House official the CDC is said to be working with government agencies to make a revised mask policy for when masks are lifted. This means that Disney will continue to have guests wear masks on transportation. This will include Disney buses, the monorails, and even the skyliner!

The transportation at Disney World is neither public nor commuter. The TSA mandate does not apply to them. Disney could get rid of masks on transportation any time they’d like.

The mask mandate has been in effect for 2 years. They knew it would expire on March 18 and Covid cases have been down for at least a month and masks have not been mandated in indoor environments for a while so why didn't they have time to figure this out before now?
