The Disney Wish is Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship! Disney Cruise Line has been teasing us with many updates about the new ship and guests have a lot to look forward to.

From cinematic dining adventures, a tower suiteentertainment, and just stunning staterooms, it has it all. Guests even have a chance to ride on Disney Cruise Line’s first attraction at sea.

It is an exciting time to be a cruise fan, and many are looking forward to June and July Sailings. However, Disney has announced some delays.

Many things have been affected by the current state of the world. Disney has been no exception to this. In addition to supply line issues delaying merchandise and food shipments, we have seen delays in openings. For example, the Swan Reserve’s opening was pushed back significantly. New attraction openings have been delayed or canceled.

And now these delays affect the high seas. The Disney Wish will not make its Maiden Voyage on its anticipated date. The first sailing will move from June 9, 2022 to July 14, 2022.

All Dates Affected

The first 12 sailings, which are scheduled to take place this summer, are all affected. The dates are: 6/9, 6/14 (DVC), 6/17, 6/20, 6/24, 6/27, 7/1. 7/4, 7/8, 7/11, 7/15, 7/18.

As it stands, guests with bookings are reportedly receiving a future cruise credit through December 31, 2023. Nothing has been stated in terms of rebooking aboard Wish.

We know that this must come as a disappointment for those with cruises booked. It is okay to not be okay when it comes to the loss of a much anticipated vacation experience, especially in these times when we all need something to look forward to. Hang in there, dear cruise fans.

The silver lining is that I’d already planned to be there a few days early to stay at my home resort and catch Drawn to Life. Now I just have to do my first ever split stay and find somewhere else to stay for the time we would have been on the cruise. We will work it out and see the Wish some other time.

I’m bummed. I have a flight and already got the time off from work for our cruise that was supposed to be the last week of June :(

I am so sorry to hear that! It is hard to look forward to something, count down the days and then have to start all over. I hope you are able to book a fun experience for a later time.
