Planning a Disney vacation? If you are staying at one of these hotels, you may be visiting during a pool refurbishment. Read on for when to expect these closures.
Refurbishments
Every so often Disney closes certain areas and does a refurbishment. When these are done, the guests will have new and sometimes enhanced experiences. To see a full list of scheduled refurbishments, check out our master list HERE.
We recently shared that Fort Wilderness and Bay Lake Tower Resorts’ pools would be going under refurbishment. We now know more specific dates.
Fort Wilderness Pool
At The Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool and whirlpool spa will be closed. This refurbishment will take place from January 9, 2023 through early April 2023.
Disney warns guests they may see and hear construction during this refurbishment, but they shouldn’t hear anything from dusk until 9:00 AM.
The Meadow Swimmin’ Pool and whirlpool spa will be closed from January 9, 2023 through Early April 2023.
The water play are and the Meadow Snack Bar that are located next to the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool will remain open.
Fort Wilderness Guests are also welcome to use the Wilderness Swimmin’ Pool and its whirlpool spa. This is a quiet pool located near the cabins.
As you can see in the picture above, this is not a very big pool to accomodate the entire campground. On my most recent visit, the Meadows Swimming Pool was closed, and this pool was PACKED!
Luckily, this refurbishment will take place during the cooler months, so maybe less guests will be inconvenienced.
Contemporary Resort
The Feature Pool and whirlpool spas at the Contemporary Resort will be undergoing refurbishment as well. This closure will take place from January 9, 2023 through early April 2023.
Just like at The Fort, the water play area and the pool at Bay Lake Towers will be open. You may see or hear some construction, but you shouldn’t hear it between dusk and 9:00 AM.
The Feature Pool and whirlpool spas at the Contemporary Resort will be closed January 9, 2023 through early April 2023.
Hopefully, it won’t be too crowded with two hotels using one pool.
