Months ago, Guests were met with frustration when Disney placed restrictions on how many nights Guests could stay in the Walt Disney World Resorts. See how this restriction is lifted with a few exceptions. How could this may affect your future travel plans?
Resort Retrictions
As we shared back in October, Walt Disney World began to block Resort single day Resort stays. On the My Disney Experience app, when Guests requested a single night stay at a Disney Resort it showed that there was no availability.
Although Guests found availability at the same Resort for the same date when requesting two or more nights. Although Disney did not announce this resort restriction, we listed a few reasons for these possible restrictions HERE.
This was very frustrating for many Walt Disney World Guests that wished to enjoy a split stay or who wanted to plan a quick Walt Disney World trip for the holidays.
Restrictions Lifted…Almost
Starting today, December 6, 2021, Guests can again book a single night stay at any Walt Disney World Resort. This is great news, but there are still a few restrictions in place.

When trying to make a one-day reservation on Christmas Eve or on Christmas Day, it showed no availability. By simply adding an additional resort day to the reservation, resort options magically appeared.
The same was also true for New Years Eve and New Years Day. So even though Disney Guests can make single day resort reservations for most days there are still a few restrictions around the holidays.
When we look out into the New Year just a bit, we see another restriction for a single day resort stay. We see restrictions for a single resort stay on January 7th and 8th. This would be in response to the overwhelming surge of Guests participating the runDisney Marathon Weekend.
Currently there are no restrictions on single day reservations in February around the dates for the runDisney Princess Half-Marathon Weekend. If you already have a single night stay booked at a Disney Resort for these dates, there will be no changes to your stay.
Currently single night stays around Christmas, New Years, and the runDisney Marathon weekend are unavailable.
This only affects those attempting to make a new single day reservation. It will be interesting if these restrictions may be in place for future holidays and runDisney weekends.
