You are going to love this new celebration of Walt Disney World through artistic expression. Epcot is getting a new feature and here is the latest update.
D23 Announcements
Today, Josh D’amaro himself addressed the crowd of Disney fans at Destination D23. He proceeded to make announcements for what is to come for Disney parks around the world.
We are excited about all there is to come. I (Katie P) am particularly excited because one update involves one of my favorite things, Disney artwork.
Epcot’s Reimagining
Anyone who has been to Epcot in recent years may have noticed that it is in a state of construction. In some cases, we have some serious deconstruction going on.
This is because Epcot is divided into new neighborhoods. These include World Celebration, World Nature, and World Discovery. The front entrance is also undergoing a makeover.
A New Update for the Walt Statue!
When Epcot’s reimagining was first announced, part of the announcement brought us concept art for a new statue at the entrance. You can read all about the original announcement here.
According to Disney Parks Blog, “As part of the historic transformation of EPCOT, teams have been reimagining the front of the park and the entry experience for guests. In the future, there will be a new location near Spaceship Earth called Dreamers Point with a spectacular view of the park.”
It goes on to say that the it has updates for the progress on the new statue of Walt Disney! “Disney Imagineers are now working to bring this new statue to life“.
Disney Imagineer Scott Goddard has been working to bring this vision to life. Soon Disney’s original dreamer will have a seat in Dreamer’s Point.
In addition to adding meaningful artwork to the entrance, it looks like it could be a fun photo spot as well. Perhaps it will make guests feel more connected with Walt.

The statute looks really great but it begs the question why wasn’t it done in time for the 50th and please do not blame covid that excuse is getting really old. Everything here in Florida has been opened for more than a year.
