50th Anniversary Refurbishments
In preparation for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, all 4 Theme Parks have received extra doses of magical refurbishments. Be sure to check out the new Beacons of Light that will illuminate Spaceship Earth and the newly refurbished Cinderella Castle.
Walt Disney World has also installed 50 golden character sculptures throughout each of the four theme parks. This magical overlay has extended to both transportation and even the Orlando International Airport.
For several months one sweet location, the Main Street Confectionery, was undergoing a refurbishment. Previously the Main Street Cinema housed sweet confections for Guests to purchase while the Main Street Confectionery was closed. This newly vacant location will now be redesigned for this Retro 50th Collection.
Confectionery Reopening Date
Last week, we shared that the Main Street Confectionery would be opening on September 29, 2021 according to the Disney website. This was great news for the many Guests visiting the Magic Kingdom this week.
What can be better than this sweet reopening? Enjoying this old-fashioned candy store a day early. That’s right you can enjoy the sweetest Mickey Mouse inspired treats as soon as Tuesday, September 28, 2021.

Newly Reimagined
Guests will be mesmerized by the colorful displays of sweet confections. Check out the candy wall that features 38 varieties of M&M’s and Skittles. Main Street Confectionery will now offer 30 new treats that will not be available at any other location in Walt Disney World.
According to Disney Parks Blog, “If you’re in the mood for something savory and sweet, you can now personalize your popcorn experience with multiple combinations. Select from four popcorn flavors – caramel, rainbow fruit, buttery, cheddar – and then top it all off with a selection of M&M’S or SKITTLES candies or perhaps even with some chocolate drizzle for an extra sweet treat!”
Main Street Confectionery will also feature sweet 50th Anniversary treats. Each of these feature the EARidescent M&M’s. These treats will be available for Guests to enjoy starting on October 1, 2021.
