NEWS: Disney Cancels Another Holiday Event

While we won’t be celebrating Halloween with Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party this year, it won’t keep us from having a spooky celebration!

Disney has introduced After Hours Boo Bash, a special ticketed event that takes place on select evenings in August, September, and October.

What's the difference between Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and After Hours Boo Bash?

This event is sure to be a hauntingly good time, although it originally faced harsh criticism from Disney fans.

Fans were initially shocked at the events $129-$200 ticket price. Despite the complaints, this spooky event continues to sell out.

With special exclusive treats, Maleficent the dragon, smaller crowds and Halloween cavalcades, this event is sure to be a treat!

Tickets now available

Tickets for several Boo Bash nights were sold out as of just a few days ago. Most of these nights are now showing availability once more!

Nearly every After Hours Boo Bash event in October was sold out, leaving only Sunday, October 10, Sunday, October 17, and Sunday, October 24 available.

However, now only October 31 is sold out, with tickets available for every other date in October.

In August, the first event, August 10 has sold out, and remains sold out. Several dates in September were also sold out, but have since been replenished.

Raising capacity at a limited capacity event?

Disney has stated After Hours Boo Bash is a limited capacity event, but has not released what that capacity is.

However, now that “sold out” nights are now showing availability, the capacity appears to have been increased.

The price people paid was based on a limited capacity. Once the date was SOLD OUT, it should have remained that way. The big draw of After Hours is “no lines, no waiting”. What does SOLD OUT mean? Apparently absolutely nothing. Disney should lower the cost as they are making those three hours less valuable by jamming more people into the event. Disney should refund anyone who wants their money back on this basis.

This does bother me. I’m happy that more people can enjoy this event but at the same time, I was on the phone for many hours trying to secure my tickets to a limited event and now I feel like I could have waited and it may actually be crowded.
