Round 1 of March Badness continues! Let’s vote for our next villain and see yesterday’s results.
Yesterday, my friend and fellow KtP writer, Heather, introduced you to our fourth KtP tournament. If you have been following along, you have seen our favorite Disney character, attraction and restaurant tournaments.
Disney Villain Tournament
Now it is time to find your favorite Villain, and who doesn’t love a good villain? Without a villain, we wouldn’t have our favorite heroes. We need your help to find which Disney Villain is the baddest of them all.
How it works
We need your help! Whether you are a new Disney fan or Certified Disney Pro, we want to hear from you as we narrow down your favorite Disney Villains.
This tournament will be like our previous tournaments – a bracket style tournament. We will begin with 32 contenders and vote until we get down to one. There can be only one big bad villain.
Each day of the tournament, we will bring you a new game with a match-up between two fan-favorite Disney Villains. You will be able to cast your vote for one of the two options to advance to the next round.
Like the last three tournaments, this is a single elimination style tournament. The Villain with least amount of votes will be eliminated from the tournament. So let your voice be heard to find out who the crew will crown the baddest of them all.
The Tournament Bracket
With over 100 Disney Villains, there are a lot to choose from. We narrowed it down for you to pick your favorite out of some of our favorites.
The bracket is divided into four themes: Male Villains, Female Villains, Star Wars Villains, and Marvel Villains.
After the KtP writing team narrowed down our favorite villains, we are left with 32 bad to the bone villains for you to choose from. These include some of the classic characters and newer characters to the Disney franchise.
The characters are all lined up on the tournament bracket. There will definitely be some tough choices. I know I am already struggling to decide who my favorite is in some of these match-ups. Be sure to vote, so your favorite makes it to the top!
Do you want to print a bracket to play along at home? Simply download the printable PDF bracket linked below. You can also open the bracket image you see above in a new window and print it without downloading. Both of these options will allow you to fill in your predictions and see which of your favorites make it the furthest.
This is a tournament the whole family can get in on, so be sure that you have a copy for each family member. Also, be sure that each family member casts their vote! Simply exit the article after casting your vote and then reopen it and scroll to the poll. It should be ready for a second person to vote.
Match Up 2: Frollo vs. Governor Ratcliffe
We are still looking at the Male Villain category. Today’s matchup is Frollo versus Governor Ratcliffe.
Claude Frollo is from the 1996 animated film, The Hunchback of Notre Dame. In the film, he’s ruthless, cares only for himself and teaches Quasimodo that the world is a sinful place. He keeps him hidden from the outside world.
I have always thought that this film has been underrated, but I also feel it’s one of the darkest animated films too. Frollo is a pretty scary and evil villain and will stop at nothing to get his way!
You will find Governor Ratcliffe in the 1995 animated film, Pocahontas. He is portrayed as greedy, self absorbed, power hungry and on a search for gold.
Like Frollo, he will stop at nothing to get his way and he has no problem with getting rid of anyone who stands in his way. In this case, it’s the Native Americans.
Though gold is not found in Virginia, he leads his men on an exhibition to find gold and, at the end even betrays his own men.
Ratcliffe was briefly seen in the parks during the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom game that once took place in the Magic Kingdom. Sadly, this game has recently been shut down for good, and you can read about that here.
Yesterday, we saw our first matchup: Gaston versus Shan Yu.
Which villain will be moving on to the Sweet 16? Here are the results:
Wow! I think it’s safe to say here that no villain WINS like Gaston! Be honest. You sang that to yourself, right? Gaston has a lot going for him. He’s handsome. He’s strong. He never gives up! Gaston will be moving on to the sweet 16.
Polling will remain open until 9 P.M. Eastern time/6 P.M. Pacific time today. We will gather the results and compile them then.
We will reveal the winner of this match-up in tomorrow’s tournament match-up post. You will see which villain won and be able to vote in the next match-up. Be sure to look for a post around noon Eastern time.
Time to Vote
Now it’s time for you to decide which villain in this match-up is your favorite! I can’t wait to see who the crew chooses.
