As you may know, Dancing with the Stars is back. And the fan favorite Disney Night theme is airing soon!

If you have never seen Dancing with the Stars, it is a series that takes celebrities and transforms them into ballroom dancers. The catch is that ballroom dancing is more physically and mentally demanding than many people bargain for.

Each contestant is paired with a renowned ballroom dancer. Their partners help them learn choreography to dazzle the judges in hopes of being the last star standing.

If you have never watched, you may want to tune in for Disney night. It is fun even if you know nothing about the show.

The ABC series is hosting Disney night on Monday, September 28! You can tune in at 8:00 PM E.T./P.T. Each pair of dancers will perform choreography set to a Disney song.

Disney Night Airs Sept. 28th at 8:00 PM ET

Many great performances have emerged from Disney Night. One of my all time favorites is Season 25’s Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold dance the Foxtrot to the Jordan Fisher/Lin-Manuel Miranda version of “You’re Welcome” from Moana.

Lin-Manuel Miranda+Moana+Dancing? We’ll take it! You can check out the video right here.

Even though I rarely start watching Dancing With the Stars on night one, the Disney night theme sucks me in. Honestly, I wasn’t planning to watch this season until I saw the Disney lineup.

The Lineup!

This year’s season of Dancing with the Stars is already underway. The fourteen remaining couples are already working on their Disney numbers for Monday’s show!

CHEER‘s head coach Monica Aldama and Val Chmerkovskiy will be performing a waltz to “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid. I don’t know about you, but they had me at “Little Mermaid.” I’ll be “cheer”ing for her.

Next, Tiger King‘s Carole Baskin and Pasha Pashkov will be dancing the samba to “Circle of Life” from The Lion King. Of course she is–only a big cat film would do! But, does anyone else secretly wish it were “I Just Can’t Wait to be King?”

The Bachelor’s Kaitlyn Bristowe and Artem Chigvintsev will dance the Foxtrot to “How Far I’ll Go” from Moana. I already get chills every time I hear this song, and now this? It sounds like it is going to be a thing of beauty.

Super Bowl champion Vernon Davis and Peta Murgatroyd are going to be doing the quickstep to “Be Our Guest” from Beauty and the Beast. It leaves me wondering whether gray stuff will be involved.

Likewise, actress Anne Heche and Keo Motsepe will also be dancing the quickstep, but they will use to “Zero to Hero” from Hercules as their music. Bless my soul, this lineup is on a roll! There are so many amazing picks!

Next, actress Skai Jackson and Alan Bersten will be dancing the jive to “Almost There” from The Princess and the Frog. It it just me, or does this Disney Channel star turned Disney Princess storyline seem magically poetic?

Actress, Justina Machado and Sasha Farber are going to do the Charleston to “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” from Mary Poppins. I am excited for this fun and lively number!

Backstreet Boy AJ McLean and Cheryl Burke are going to be dancing the quickstep to “Prince Ali” from Aladdin. Do you think there will be elephants?

Television host Jeannie Mai and Brandon Armstrong are dancing the Viennese waltz to “Married Life” from Up. Did anyone else get a little teary eyed just thinking about a waltz for Carl and Ellie?

In contrast, actor Jesse Metcalfe and Sharna Burgess are dancing the jive to “King of New York” from Newsies. It sounds like it is going to be lively and fun!

Rapper Nelly and Daniella Karagach dancing the foxtrot to “It’s Alright” from Soul. personally I can’t wait to see this one since Nelly has been quite the charmer this season.

Next, TV host Nev Schulman and Jenna Johnson will be dancing the Argentine tango to “Angelica” from Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. If all goes well, the pair will avoid walking the plank for this routine.

Actress Chrishell Stause and Gleb Savchenko will dance the waltz to “A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes” from Cinderella. I hope she doesn’t lose one of her dancing shoes while she is embracing that Cinderella vibe!

Finally, Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir and Britt Stewart will be dancing the rumba to “Reflection” from Mulan. In truth, I secretly hope he has a cricket along for luck!

Final Thoughts

All in all, this is a stellar lineup! As always, Dancing with the Stars seems to cover its bases with stand out songs from the Disney films we love.

I don’t know about you, but I will be tuning in even if I have to watch it on demand. Disney and dancing sounds like my idea of entertainment.
