Water Parks Closed due to Cold Weather

For a stress-free Disney or Universal Studios vacation, let the FREE expert planners at Royal Carriage Vacations take care of every detail including dining reservations, applying discounts, and onboard cruise credit.

Brrrrrr! It’s still winter even if we don’t want to believe it. Another cold front is moving through and has closed two of the most popular water parks!

It is going to be another couple of cold days in the Sunshine state so Disney has closed Blizzard beach. Along with Blizzard beach being closed, Universal has closed Volcano Bay.

In the winter months, you want to be sure to check theme parks hours prior to arriving at a water park. It can be cold, and they will close if needed.

With it being winter, it’s the time for park refurbishments. Typhoon Lagoon is currently closed for refurbishment. It is planned to reopen mid-March.

This will be perfect timing for spring break vacation goers. Will you be attending during this time? Be sure to check the March Crowd Calendar.

H2O Glow Nights

Once Typhoon Lagoon reopens, they will also be bringing back H2O Glow Nights. This is an after-hours party with a DJ dance party, special glow-light effects, low waits for attractions, and event-exclusive food and beverage! Check out Rebecca’s review HERE.

H2O Glow Nights Returning to Typhoon Lagoon in 2020

Blizzard Beach reopened last month after it’s own refurbishment. It opened a week later than anticipated. Since it has been reopened, it has had periodic closures due to the colder temperatures this winter.

Blizzard Beach will be CLOSED today Friday, February 28, 2020 and Saturday, February 29, 2020. It is planned to reopen on Sunday March 1, 2020.

Be sure to check Kenny’s crowd calendar for all updated park hours!

Volcano Bay is also CLOSED today and tomorrow, February 28 and 29.

All hotel pools are heated in case you still wanted to swim. I have traveled when it’s cooler, and it was even too cold for a New Englander to swim.
