Echo Lake at Hollywood Studios to undergo refurbishment

Echo Lake at Hollywood Studios to undergo refurbishment

It may seem like, “What else can close in Hollywood Studios?” right now, but Echo Lake will receive some refurbishment love in the coming weeks.

Starting Wednesday September 6, 2017, Echo Lake will begin an almost 2 month refurbishment at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  The lake area will be completely drained and cleaned, then the entire area will be repainted.  The lake will then be refilled.

The beloved Dinosaur Gertie will also be repainted.  Min and Bill’s Dockside Diner will be painted as well.  Both locations should remain open to serve guests during this refurbishement period.

The area will also undergo some landscaping changes to freshen up the look and add some new plants.  I would expect the refurbishment to be fully completed by the end of October.

Ha! I thought they'd drained it to prevent flooding from Irma. Good timing!

Glad to see one of my favorite spots at HS will be getting some much-needed attention, instead of being demo'd. Looking forward to seeing the refreshed look in January.
