If I want to be first in line for 7 dwarfs on a Tuesday Nov 28 Christmas party, what time to get to line? If there’s no one in line yet, is there a sign or something to tell me where to line up for the 7D meet and greet?
You'll find that information on http://www.characterlocator.com
I have character locator, didn't find the questions to these specific answers? No discussion of signage, and from the pictures I couldn't tell if there was any signage. If I arrived after the line started it's not an issue, but I want to be first in line.
Post any questions you have on the Chat Room there and I'll be happy to answer them
Went to the parade last night. It was cute, kids enjoyed it but not worth the extra 338 dollars!
We're trying to decide if we want to do the party on the 29th (the only one available during our trip) and we really like your reviews. How soon will you post your review of the party on the 25th?
All info on http://www.characterlocator.com will be updated on 25th. Can't assure you when I'll have the post up from my experience. Character Locator is the tool you'll want.
Great. Thanks
Which party will you be attending?
I always attend the first to provide a review
Has that changed over time? I thought Tuesdays were supposed to be best, although Sundays make sense. I planned our week so well last Dec but I did not make a great plan for our (Thurs) party night (such regrets!). Next time we try a party, I'd love the advantage of a great plan AND the "best" day for crowds. Thanks, Kenny!
In the last 2 years Sunday sold less overall, but the reality is that character meets always have long lines. The best thing is to use a plan from http://www.characterlocator.com
12/17 vs 12/19?
Both will be busy or sell out in advance
Kenny, my son and I will be there Aug 28- Sep7, so we will have 2 opportunities to attend the halloween party, do you think one day will be less crowded than the other this early on? Also do you think it's worth the monty to attend both nights instead of a backyard bbq dinner?
Thanks!
Benefit of doing 2 parties is that you will be able to meet all the characters and see the parade, show and fireworks.
Between 11/9 and 11/10 which do you suggest for MVMCP? I know they will both be busy but was thinking 10th since it seems timing for characters etc can sometimes be little off at first party. TIA!
Would you choose oct 6 or oct 9 for Halloween party?
How disappointing! I immediately booked my trip when I saw the date of the 8th! We leave the 9th so we can't go! Did they state a reason as to why they changed it from the 8th?
Someone probably typed the wrong date, then pressed send.
Is a Thursday night MNSSHP less busy than a moderate-busy day at the park ? I hear of people just walking on a lot of rides. Is this true based on your experience? TIA
I already have a plan, but am willing to adjust it. We are there 11/28 thru 12/2, hence the original question. More importantly, is this party really worth it?
I can't make that decision for you, but I like the Halloween party with special characters, parade and fireworks.
We will be at Magic Kingdom Thursday October 26 and Friday October 27 - but one day will just be for the Halloween Party, and the other all day. Which day do you recommend for all day at the park and which for Halloween Party?
I would avoid Friday party, but having a good plan from http://www.characterlocator.com is far more important as all parties are busy
Looked thought this whole thread and didn't see if you like Tuesday, Nov. 28th or Friday, Dec. 1 better. I know how you hate Tuesday's, but in this instance, wouldn't the Friday be busier because it's a weekend night?
Neither, but I good plan I always better than picking the "Best date." All parties are busy and weekday parties are the worst. Sunday is best. You'll do much more with a plan from http://www.characterlocator.com.
May I ask why Monday is considered a bad day to go to Magic Kingdom? That's what I've heard from other people. Thanks.
Wait times are higher as people begin their vacation at MK
They don't cancel the parties if it rains, though, do they? So if it rains on Friday and the parade is cancelled, they still have the party and my tickets aren't refunded, and if I want to go Sunday to see the parade, I have to buy a 2nd set of tickets, right?
If thunderstorms cancel the parades, they usually offer a ticket for another day or refund.
Really? I'd not heard that. Thanks! :-)
Was up early friday morning to reserve my adr's for our October trip. Afterward I checked to see if any tickets were yet on sale for MNSSHP in October. Site said they were sold out! Is this accurate?
Goes on sale in May. Sold out from 2016
Hi Kenny!
We are going 11/12-11/18. In your opinion what is the best night to do MVMCP?
Sunday
We will be there 9/7-9/13. I was originally thinking 9/12 (Tuesday) but would you recommend 9/10 (sunday) instead?
Yes Sunday
What do you think – Aug 25th, 29th or sept 1st? We leave sept 2nd.
Go with one of the earlier dates in case it rains
Thank you! Will toss a coin to decide then!
Hi Kenny, thanks for all the great info. Our first day of our trip is Sept 10th, going to MK. I knew there wwould be a MNNSHP but there is also a ticketed earlt morning magic event that morning. Should we skip going to Fantasyland at rope drop? How much do those affect lines in Fantasyland?
Doesn't affect Fantasyland at all.
Is September 12th a good day to go to the MNSSHP?
Yes, but make sure you have a good plan
Is there something on your blog to give us a game plan?
My touring plans are all located on http://www.characterlocator.com
What is a good plan for the not so scary party? Do you have something on your website that talks about this? Thank you!
I have great plans on http://www.characterlocator.com
Hi Kenny
How do you feel about Sunday October 1st for the party?
Good choice
Hi! We are planning to go to the Sept 7th party. Thoughts?
Even with light crowds, you'll need a good plan
Would you recommend sunday Sept 10 staying at AKL or Tues Sept 12 staying at Polynesian??
Sun
Thanks Kenny!!
We will be at Disney the week of October 21-28. Would Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday be the best night for the Halloween Party?
Thursday
Good morning. So I am planning on two MVMCP. I am looking at Dec 10th for sure, but if you had to pick an extra would pick week prior (like Dec 7/8) or would you pick Dec 12th?
I'd go 7th
Our first time and can't decide between Friday 13th or Sunday 15th October. Any recommendations as to which will be less busy please??
Both will be busy.
On the Disney World site, they changed the dates of MVMCP. Instead of starting Wednesday 11/8 with another party on Thursday 11/9...it now shows the first party is Thurday 11/9 with another party on Friday 11/10. Which one of the two will be the least crowded?
I confirmed the switch with Disney yesterday. Both parties will be busy or sell out.
Any major difference from Tuesday and Thursday's?
Generally Thursday is better
Do you happen to know approximately how many tickets are allocated for each night for not so scary?
No one does. People guess 25,000
Why are you not a fan of Tuesdays? I would think it would be less crowded on that night.
More people go on Tuesday because it's early in their trip and they are already going to MK.
I have noticed that Disney say the first Christmas party is now on the 9th. Did they decide against the 8th? Also for Halloween would you recommend the 29th of October or the 1st of November. We have a 3 year old and a 7 year old in our party. Thank you
Yes they moved it to 9th and 10th. Both MNSSHP will be busy or sell out.
My family and I are trying to go to the halloween party on September 24th, was trying to see if that was a good day?
Go for it
Just asking about the future because you said: "As I had suspected on my Crowd Calendar, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party will begin earlier than ever!"--how did you suspect for the crowd calendar this year?
I'm really disappointed that I am going to miss is by 1 day, but it seems like it would be impossible to guess what they are going to do for the future, so very hard to plan to try to get it in in August!
Both my husband and I are teachers in NY, and it is impossible for us to come during the traditional seasonal times.
Last year when we went during Jersey week, the parties were on a Thursday and Friday. But this time they are Wednesday and Thursday. Any idea why? Helps our case b/c our MK days will be that Thursday and Friday and now we don't have to leave early. They were also doing Christmas Special tapings then so I wonder if that's related. Or related to Veteran's Day (or a combo).
We have our trip booked for 11/25-12/1 and are planning to attend MVMCP. Our possible dates would be 11/26 (Sun) or 11/28 (Tues). I see that you don't typically like Tuesdays. For those dates would you still recommend the Sun ticket? We won't be doing any other park tickets on that day.
Sunday
We will be at WDW the week of Columbus Day and I'm curious about your thoughts on best night for MNSSHP? Will the Sunday before Columbus Day be more crowded with Monday being a school holiday? Thanks for all your suggestions and information!
Pick the one you like best. All will be busy or sell out.
Taking a super early flight in on 10/26 and trying to decide btwn 10/26,27 and 29. Which would you recommend?
All will be busy
Do I need to buy an extra ticket for the Halloween party please or are they included within our Park tickets? I've just read your post and realised we will be there end of August. Family of 5 from UK staying on resort. Many thanks, Kx
Hard ticket event, must purchase ticket and exchange for armband or you'll be dismissed from the park at 7pm
Kenny, which one would you choose 09/10 or 09/15?
10th
Kenny, we will be there for the Aug 25 and 28th parties. Which one would you recommend? Thanks!
28th
I know you've said you like Sundays, but would that still be recommended for 10/9 with Columbus Day being the next day?
That whole week will be busy or sell out.
Why do you not like Tuesdays? When do they open ADRs for MNSSHP?
There aren't ADR for the party unless you attend the party and that's a giant waste of time. More people go Tuesday and Friday
Thoughts on Oct 5th? We will be there 9/30- 10/6 but the 5th is our down day.
It's much more about having a good plan than the day you pick that week.
October 8-13 best night for Halloween party? Was thinking Sunday but Monday is Columbus Day holiday. Thoughts?
All will be busy or sell out.
Just curious why... I thought it would be better than the weekend! Thank you!!!
More people go that day
Why?
Would you recommend 10/29 or 11/1 one over the other crowd-wise?
Both will be busy or sell out
Why do you not like Tuesdays? Just curious. I was also thinking about 10/17. Or 10/12 or 10/19.
We're going from 10/12 to 10/21.
More people go then
Which date would you recommend, October 24 or 26?
About the same
Do you think August 25 will be busy? That is out last night and we are thinking about doing the party. Will I luck out on crowds since it's early?
Shouldn't be too bad, but every blogger in Orlando will be there.
Thanks!
Hi Kenny...what day do you think is best for the Halloween Party?
Sunday
Sorry, why are you not a fan of Tuesday parties?
More people go, as reflected by the 100,000 people who asked this in this thread.
Why is that?
More people go
Any idea if Early Morning Magic is happening in November? I only see dates through September on MDE. Wanted to do that and the Christmas show week of November 5th.
No listings for it yet. No park hours for November yet.
What do you think - Aug 25th, 29th or sept 1st? We leave sept 2nd.
Why don't you like Tuesdays? Considering Sun 12/10 or 12/17 or Tues 12/12. I was leaning towards 12/12. Thanks.
More people go. Just look at the number of people who asked this question here.
I am so excited - based on your predictions and the time the park was closing on 8/29, I was pretty sure I would be ok with that day, but having it confirmed means I can be confident in my planning - and I don't have to change any ADRs :)
I don't know how I would manage my trip planning without your site (and character locator) I love them!
We will be there for sept. 10th (sunday) and 12th ( tuesday), in your opinion which would be less crowded?
Equal
What do you think about Tuesday 10/17 for the Halloween party?
I'm not a fan of Tuesdays
Do you have the dates for Disneyland California's halloween party?
Extremely sad as we leave on the 8th Nov and I so wanted to go to the MVMCP on the 7th. I will miss it by one day
Do you have an idea when they start selling out by? I know that's hard to predict but I wondered if there is a trend. We are going that same week. Thanks!
Now that there is Nov 1st what is the best choice? 29,31, or 1st?
thanks!
Possible that all will sell out, but 1st would be least likely
Ugh not again! They always space the last Halloween party and the first Christmas party just far enough away I have to use two more vacation days to do both
Kenny, I see you like Sundays, wondering what are your thoughts on 9/10 vs 9/12? Crowd sizes, etc.
Not crowded
We will be there December 10-17. We like to have the party days somewhere in the middle as a 'rest' day. The 12th and 14th are available, which would be better? Tuesday or Thursday?
Thu, but you'll not have a backup date if it rains out
Would you stick with Sunday, 10/15, as your recommendation too, or would you suggest 10/19 or 10/20 for that week? Thanks!
I like Sundays
Nov 17 date works best for our plans. Do you think it will be crazy busy since it is the last one before Thanksgiving?
Go into any party expecting a sell out with one of my plans and you'll have a great time.
How much are the tickets? I need to be prepared!
As it states at the bottom of the post, costs and on sale date aren't provided yet
Thanks Kenny!! Can't wait for the December crowd calendar to come up so I can start planning :).
I will be there the same time and have the same question. I'm leaning towards the 9th. The first week was not what I expected so I'm reworking my schedule.
Me too! Had thought there would be a party earlier in the week.
Do you know from experience will Disney Christmas decorations go up earlier than 9th Nov as we fly back home 8th Nov but would love to see it decorated?
Yes
Hi, Kenny,
Do you think that they will continue to follow the trend of beginning the MNSSHP in August? If so, we may actually be able to attend this!
Also, rumors are that the park is decorated for Halloween one night, then POOF, it's Christmas the next day. Is this true? If so, when is the switchover?
It takes about 3 days for the full transformation. No idea what they will do for dates next year or beyond
No no no. Celebrating Halloween in August? C'mon Disney. Stop taking evenings away from the general public...
When will Disneyland dates be released?
Don't know, but I'll post when they go live
Hi kenny! We will be there week of Nov 4-jersey week. between Nov 8 or 9 which would you pick for MVMCP? 11/8 appears to be first party. I was leaning towards Thursday 11/9, the second party. What do you recommend? Thanks!!
Each could sell out, but try 9th
Are sundays just not as popular for people to attend the parties? So better than going on a week day?
I prefer Sundays because locals don't go.
What do you think about going to the Halloween party, on Halloween?
It will sell out well in advance
Any recommended dates or days of the week for the Christmas party? We are planning a trip the week of November 12th.
I like Sundays
Will you let us know when they go on sale?
Yes
