If you’ve visited Blizzard Beach in the Summer months, you know that the only way to avoid an hour or more line for Summit Plummit and Downhill Double Dipper is to arrive early or stay late. Well, Disney is now testing a new Virtual Queue system that will offer an experience similar to having a Fastpass+.
From now through April 7, 2017 Disney water parks Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach will be testing the new Virtual Queue system on Miss Adventure Falls in Typhoon Lagoon as well as Summit Plummit, Downhill Double Dipper and Slush Gusher at Blizzard Beach.
Disney feels that the ability to reserve a spot in line for an attraction without having to physically wait will enhance the guest experience by allowing you to do other things.
This sounds a lot like the TapuTapu system that Volcano Bay will use when it opens on May 25, 2017. Competition breeds creativity and enhances our experiences in the parks.
I’ll stop in the water parks and see if I can take part in the testing of this new system and report back for you.

I hope this works out and that they continue it! We have stepped out of line many times after waiting for 20 or more minutes when the line has barely moved and there is still a sea of people in front of us. Hoping this works!

Oh I hope they have this for my trip in June. I hate waiting in lines. We will be doing Typhoon Lagoon for the 1st time. We've done Blizzard Beach once before, but it was on a day that rained most of the day so there were no lines. It was great! Why not go to a water park when it is raining? You're wet anyway! It's not like rain in Florida is cold.
