Disney Announces a New Original Animated Film

If Disney fans have expressed one wish, it's that they want more new original animated Disney stories. And it looks like Disney is going to deliver just that!

It's an exciting weekend for Disney fans. That's because D23 weekend is here!

D23 is the ultimate fan event. And part of the celebration includes massive movie announcements!

If there is one thing that fans have been asking for, it's a resurgence of new, original stories rather than a sea of sequels, and certainly rather than more live-action reboots. And while Disney has plenty of sequels and reboots coming, the company is also making good on fan wishes by getting back to the heart of storytelling through original animated features.

An All-New Original Animated Feature Film

Now, Disney has announced plans to release an all-new animated feature film. The film, called Clay, will be the 67th film released by Walt Disney Animation Studios.

The concept art displayed at D23 features characters Flip and Mushy. And theirs sounds like a truly unique story.

Flip is the world's worst mentor. And the story unfolds when Flip is tasked with looking after a mushy piece of clay.

When Does Clay Arrive in Theatres

We really can't even begin to imagine how this film about a little ball of clay will take shape. But we do know when audiences can expect to see it in theatres.

Clay releases in 2028

The truth as we currently know it is that Clay will make its theatrical debut in November 2028. It should arrive in time for the Thanksgiving holidays.
