Toy Story Sets an Impressive Record
The Disney/Pixar Toy Story franchise just set an impressive record. Here are all the details surrounding the accomplishment.
Toy Story Franchise

It's hard to believe that it has been more than 30 years since Toy Story first captured the imagination of audiences. The original movie premiered on November 22, 1995.
It is arguably one of the most influential films in animation. It certainly paved the way to the future.
As of June 2026, there are 31 Disney/Pixar films. The most recent installment, of course, is Toy Story 5, the hot new sequel to the beloved franchise that started it all!
Toy Story Sets a Record

Recently, the Academy Award-winning Toy Story franchise set an impressive record! It seems Disney+ has crowned a new King.
Toy Story 5 may be the star of the theaters, but its predecessors have not been forgotten. In fact, a new report revealed that Toy Story set a streaming record when it became the top Disney+ film franchise worldwide with 2 billion hours streamed.
The original film consistently appears on top-streamed movie lists each year. However, the entire franchise got a big boost in streaming numbers prior to the release of Toy Story 5.
What's Next for Disney/Pixar

Disney/Pixar shows no signs of slowing down any time soon. With Toy Story 5 on track to make over $1 billion (if it continues at its current trajectory), it is entirely likely that we will see a Toy Story 6 in the future.
4 more movies are already on the way from Disney/Pixar.
And there are 4 more confirmed Pixar projects on the way! Gatto is expected to be released in March of 2027. The Incredibles III is slated for 2028, and Coco II is expected in 2029. A film called Ono Ghost Market is also in development.
