Unexpected Transportation Closure Hits Disney World
One benefit of staying at a Walt Disney World Resort is complimentary transportation. Check out the current transportation closure that will affect your travel plans.
Disney Transportation
There are many differing opinions on transportation options, largely depending upon which Disney Resort you are staying at and also which Park you will be visiting. The Walt Disney World Resort is HUGE and many questions revolve around which is the quickest mode of transportation to arrive at each Park.
From the Skyliner, buses, ferry boats, and of course the monorail there are many options for Resort Guests to arrive at each of the Walt Disney World Parks. At times delays and transportation closures cannot be avoided and guests need to be aware of these changes.
Wilderness Lodge Refurbishment
Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge are undergoing exterior refurbishment work.
Earlier this year, Disney posted a warning that from January 12, 2026, through early April 2026, the boat dock at Disney's Wilderness Lodge will undergo routine maintenance.
The dock was closed, and boat transportation was temporarily suspended from January 12-30, 2026.
Disney Transportation Closure
The refurbishment timeline for the boat dock is now extended through late July 2026. Disney shares, "From April 13 through late July 2026, the boat dock at Disney's Wilderness Lodge will undergo routine maintenance."

Disney's Wilderness Lodge boat dock will be closed, and boat transportation will be suspended from April 13, 2026, until May 1, 2026.
