Details Revealed for Added Safety at Animal Kingdom
Disney finally reveals the reason for the added safety measures at Animal Kingdom. See how this may affect your next visit.
Changes at Animal Kingdom

Disney's Animal Kingdom is changing quite a bit with the phased closure of DinoLand USA.
Another change for Disney's Animal Kingdom is the new "Zootopia Better Zoogether" show. It officially opened on November 7, 2025, at the former "It's Tough To Be a Bug" theater inside the Tree of Life.
Guests can also meet Judy and Nick from Zootopia at Discovery Island near the Tree of Life at the Zoogether Day Gathering Spot. They are sporting brand new looks from the new Zootopia 2.
Added Safety at Animal Kingdom

During Cast Member previews for the "Zootopia Better Zoogether" show, we noticed overhead safety netting added to the queue for this attraction.
At first, when we visited Disney's Animal Kingdom, we thought that this structure covering the queue might provide shade. This would be a much-welcome addition, but unfortunately, that was not the case.
We suspected that the safety netting might have been added with a possible Tree of Life refurbishment. It has been a few years since the last Tree of Life refurbishment.
Tree of Life Refurbishment

Today, we noticed a new permit filed for the Tree of Life. The contractor listed is Whiting-Turner for facility demo, general construction, electrical, and area development.
A new permit is filed for the Tree of Life.
Disney has not provided a starting date for this refurbishment project. When the Tree of Life received a huge refurbishment in January 2023, this closed many of the walking trails located around it. Keep following along for all of the Disney refurbishment news.
