As Walt Disney once said, "We keep moving forward," and that is very true at Walt Disney World. This week, the Walt Disney Company shared BIG plans for Walt Disney World over the next 10 years.

These plans greatly affect Magic Kingdom, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom. Epcot was in a state of transformation that began in 2019 and continued until CommuniCore Hall was completed in 2024.

While the EPCOT transformation was pared down quite a bit, the majority of work is now complete in this park for the time being.

July 6th was the final day to enjoy both Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat. Disney shared that this closing would make way " for the largest expansion in history at Magic Kingdom."

The following day, Construction walls were in place along the standby queue for the Haunted Mansion and along the Rivers of America. Frontierland is looking a bit more like a "Ghost Town" lately, with the large construction walls both at the former Rivers of America and the continued refurbishment of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

Additions were added to the Haunted Mansion queue due to these construction walls, along with blocked pathways, as we shared earlier this week.

Over the past several weeks, we have noticed that the water levels have continued to lower in this space. Today, the tracks that once guided the Liberty Square Riverboat are completely visible, and crews now work to remove these tracks.

This is a big step forward for the new  Piston Peak National Park experience. This is a bit sad though, for Disney fans who missed this secluded bit of Disney magic that resided on Tom Sawyer Island.
