Are you wondering if paying extra for Disney’s Lightning Lane Multi-Pass is worth the price? Disney may have made that choice even easier by removing this popular attraction.
Disney’s Lightning Lane

Last summer, Disney Parks made a change from the previous Disney Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane system that allowed guests to skip the line for a fee. The new Lightning Lane Multi Pass is very similar to the previous Disney Genie+ with a few exceptions.
Lightning Lanes can be purchased as a Multi Pass or an Individual Lightning Lane. There is also a Premier Pass, which eliminates the need for ride reservations, but it comes at a premium price.
Disney reserves the right to make changes to which attractions are offered with Lightning Lane, and selections are limited. Check out our full review of using the Lightning Lane Multi-Pass HERE.
Attraction Removed From Lightning Lane

At Disneyland, attractions have been temporarily added as a Multi Pass Lightning Lane offering during select times. Earlier this year, Disneyland underwent quite a few refurbishment projects in preparation for their big 70th Celebration, which kicked off on May 16, 2025
Due to many attractions being closed for refurbishment, Pirates of the Caribbean was temporarily added to the list of Multi Pass Lightning Lane selections. We saw a brief pause in April when only a standby queue was offered, but then Pirates of the Caribbean continued to offer a Lightning Lane option.
Now with refurbishment work complete, Disney has made a change and starting July 1, 2025, Pirates of the Caribbean will no longer be offered as a Lightning Lane attraction at Disneyland.
Pirates of the Caribbean

It is important to note that this does not affect Pirates of the Caribbean being offered as a Lightning Lane Multi-Pass attraction at Walt Disney World.
Starting July 1, 2025, Pirates of the Caribbean will no longer be offered as a Lightning Lane attraction.
However, you may want to pack your patience when making your way through Adventureland at the Magic Kingdom. Final work is full speed ahead at the Pirates’ “Beak and Barrel Lounge” construction.
