This Extended Evening Hours Change Has Us Worried
This is not the change we were hoping for! Do you think Extended Evening Hours are even a perk with this new trend?
Extended Evening Hours

Guests staying at Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resorts can experience the parks at night after everyone else has left. This is one of the many great benefits of staying at these high-tier resorts.
Typically, Epcot hosts Extended Evening Hours on Monday, and Magic Kingdom hosts Extended Evening Hours on Wednesday. This has been the case for the last few years, with a few exceptions.
For the most part, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom are left out of the Extended Evening Hours fun, but we have noticed a new trend this summer.
Extended Evening Hours Change

Heading into July 2025, Disney's Animal Kingdom offers 6 dates for Extended Evening Hours on July 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th, and August 6. These are all provided on Wednesdays, which is typically the day of the week for Magic Kingdom Extended Evening Hours.
Looking ahead, Magic Kingdom will host Extended Evening Hours on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, from 10:00 pm until midnight. (Park hours subject to change).
We were hopeful that this trend would continue and that guests could enjoy more Extended Evening Hours dates at Magic Kingdom, but unfortunately, this change did not last long.
Unpopular Extended Evening Hours Change

We do love extra time to enjoy Disney's Animal Kingdom, but this park offers fewer attractions for Extended Evening Hours compared to Magic Kingdom.
Extended Evening Hours shift back to Disney's Animal Kingdom for 7 dates.
After one week of Extended Evening Hours for Magic Kingdom, Extended Evening Hours shift back to Disney's Animal Kingdom on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm (Park hours subject to change). Every week, park hours are released, and we remain hopeful that more dates will be offered for Extended Evening Hours at Magic Kingdom.

We have kids in school so we can only visit wdw in the Summer. We visited when Pandora first opened and our family loved Pandora at night. It was like entering a whole new world at night compared to the day. Even with these extended hours it won't get dark enough to fully enjoy those effects in the Summer. It's sad Disney paid for all those effects to be in place, but most visitors can't enjoy them anymore because the park is not open late anymore. Maybe it gets dark enough in Winter to enjoy them, but we have not gone in the Winter months so I couldn't tell you if it does.
