We still have a few days before Mother’s Day, but Disney just celebrated one of the cutest Disney moms around at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. See all of the sweet cuddles and fun play between this mom and son.
Disney’s Bakso

Disney welcomes hundreds of little lives each year, but none stole the hearts of Disney fans quite like that of little Bakso. If you have ever enjoyed Maharajah Jungle Trek at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you may have been lucky enough to encounter Walt Disney World’s Sumatran tigers!
These magnificent and rare animals represent the smallest subspecies of tigers in the world. In the wild, they are found only on the Indonesian island of Sumatra. It was wonderful news when Disney’s Animal Kingdom tiger, Sohni, welcomed her new baby Bakso into the world.
After bonding backstage for the initial months, both mom, Sohni, and baby, Bakso, greeted guests at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Understandably, Disney guests formed long lines to enjoy these first glimpses of baby Bakso.

Tigers are considered an umbrella species, which means tigers will help other species within their habitat. There are fewer than 600 Sumatran tigers left in the wild and managed care! Bakso’s arrival is a big deal and a huge win for his species!
Disney Cast Members share that this was Sohni’s second litter and since she is 13 years old she enjoyed many “cat naps” throughout the day before she delivered Bakso. Now, with an adventurous little cub, Sohni is much more active.
The Disney Caretakers share that she helps Bakso enjoy their outdoor space. She is often seen playing hide and seek with Bakso. She will hide behind bushes and then pounce out at him. She does have to endure a little tail pulling, but she is a great mom to baby Bakso.
Disney’ Animal Kingdom Mother’s Day

As a fun surprise and enrichment activity, Disney Caretakers created a beautiful Mother’s Day display for Sohni and Baby Bakso to enjoy.
Animal Kingdom celebrates Sohni with a special enrichment experience for Mother’s Day.
With fun flowers and edible snacks to enjoy, this was such a fun way to celebrate Sohni for Mother’s Day. Check out the full video:
