You may want to plan ahead if you will be staying at this Disney World Resort. With big renovations and closures, this may negatively affect your magical resort stay.
Disney Resort Refurbishment

While Guests prepare for upcoming Disney vacations, much time is devoted to selecting the perfect Resort and dining locations for their trip. What Guests may not always consider are the current refurbishments scheduled for their Disney Resort.
Although unwelcome, these refurbishments are needed. Typically, Disney provides advanced warnings for work so guests may choose a different resort.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Lobby is receiving a big refurbishment. Not only does this affect the overall aesthetic, but it also cancels the large Gingerbread House for 2025 and affects the Lobby Guest Services.
Disney Resort Restrictions

When Disney first announced the refurbishment to the Grand Floridian Lobby, they shared, “Guests may see and hear construction during daytime hours,” but then added, “portions of the lobby will be closed at times.“
Now, Disney is notifying guests with upcoming reservations that access to the Grand Floridian Resort’s Main Building will be restricted for select dates.
Disney shares, “On select nights in May, the Resort’s Main Building will be unavailable to all Guests between the hours of 12:30 am and 4:30 am.”
Plan Ahead

Guests are encouraged to follow directional signage throughout the Resort to avoid restricted areas in this phase of the refurbishment. Cast Members will be available to help answer questions and provide any additional assistance.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Main Building will be closed for select dates this month.
Disney does try to minimize the inconvenience of a big refurbishment, but these changes are not so desirable.
