The Grand Floridian is undoubtedly the most popular lobby in the entire Walt Disney World Resort. Check out what sets this lobby apart and see the current refurbishment plans.
Grand Floridian: Most Popular Lobby

When you think of Disney Resorts, does the Grand Floridian come to mind first? It’s one of the nicest and most elegant resorts on the property.
The Grand Floridian lobby is home to many celebrations throughout the year. Currently, the Grand Cottage is set up in the lobby, offering tasty treats and beautiful Easter egg displays. At Christmas time, a huge gingerbread house is constructed where you can even purchase its yummy pastries.
The great news is that all guests can visit this lobby, even if you are not staying at the Grand Floridian. Unfortunately, new refurbishment news will affect the overall allure of this lobby.
Grand Floridian Lobby Refurbishment

The grand Floridian has been in a state of refurbishment for the last several years. In 2023 a small refurbishment was completed in the lobby, but now more work is underway as the space is “enhanced.”
Disney just announced plans that a lengthy refurbishment is coming to the Grand Floridian. Disney shares, “Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will be receiving enhancements to select areas in phases, including the lobby and convention Center, from April through November 2025.”
As with all Disney refurbishment updates, they include “Guests may see and hear construction during daytime hours” but then add, “portions of the lobby will be closed at times.“
Plan Ahead

Disney shares, “All pools and most restaurant dining and other amenities will remain available. Please allow extra time for travel, as path adjustments may be in place.”
Portions of the Grand Floridian lobby will be closed during this phased refurbishment project.
At this time, we are unsure how this may affect the current Easter offerings and the holiday season for this popular resort lobby. If you plan to drive for a dining reservation at the Grand Floridian, be sure to allow extra time as parking is sometimes limited with refurbishment projects.
