This Feature on My Disney Experience is a Game Changer

My Disney Experience

We have shared many updates to the My Disney Experience apps for both Walt Disney World and Disneyland. This app is invaluable while visiting Disney Parks, from booking your next Lightning Lane Multi-Pass selection to even locating your car after a long day in the parks.

Guests can also avoid waiting in line to place a food order using the Mobile Order feature on the My Disney Experience app (we love this feature).

MagicBand Room Access

Have you ever done Online check-in, got to your room, and your MagicBand or MagicBand+ did not work to open your door? This is very frustrating as sometimes you will need to trek the long walk back to the main lobby to reset your MagicBand/MagicBand+.

We noticed a MagicBand Room Access option on our My Disney Experience on our most recent visit.

On our most recent stay, we found a new option that you can use to make sure you can access your hotel room without any glitches. You can see the MagicBand Room Access icon in the screenshot above.

How to Use

To make sure that your MagicBand or MagicBand+ can unlock your room, it is just two easy steps. Once you have opened the MagicBand Room Access you will hit “Open Scanner” on the screen. Next, touch your MagicBand or MagicBand+ near the top of your device (we found close to the camera works best).

To verify that your MagicBand or MagicBand+ will open your hotel room door, it is just two simple steps!

Once your MagicBand or MagicBand+ is successfully linked, you will see the image below.

Having this feature in the My Disney Experience App is a game changer, as Guests will not have to visit the lobby if their MagicBand/MagicBand+ does not open their hotel room.
