Universal Confirms Dragons Will Soar Over Epic Universe

Epic Universe gets more and more exciting every day. Now, Universal has confirmed that dragons will soar and free-roam to delight Guests at Epic Universe!

First Look at How to Train Your Dragon in Epic Universe

When Epic Universe, Universal Orlando Resort's newest theme park, opens on May, 22, 2025, dragons are sure to be one of the big draws! One of Epic Universe's portals is devoted to How to Train Your Dragon.

How to Train Your Dragon-Isle of Berk will feature 3 dragon-themed rides that you can read about HERE. It will also offer themed dining and shopping.

As if that isn't exciting enough, Universal also just announced that there will be over 30 unique stationary and animated dragons throughout the park! These will represent 17 species seen in the popular films!

One way to find some of these 30 dragons is to meet Toothless! Universal has confirmed that guests can visit the Haddock Paddock and meet Hiccup and Toothless! Of course, you may also meet Astrid with Stormfly, and other favorite Vikings and dragons around Berk.

And, while you are there, keep an eye on the sky! You might catch a glimpse of dragons flying high overhead.



Lastly, Universal is working on free-roaming dragons including the Night Lights! These little guys are Toothless and Lightfury's babies! Imagine what an adorable encounter that will make.
