Epic Universe
By now you have probably heard that Universal Orlando is opening a third gate: Epic Universe. This theme park will feature 5 all-new themed lands for guests to explore.
Among these is How To Train Your Dragon – Isle Of Berk. This land, based on the hit films featuring Hiccup and Toothless, promises to be a Larger-Than-Life World of Viking Adventures.
How to Train Your Dragon-Isle of Berk
In Universal’s new land, guests will see what it’s like to live amongst dragons! Universal claims this will be one of the most “breathtaking environments Universal has ever created.“
That is a huge claim considering the accomplishment that has already been achieved in bringing the immersive and amazing Wizarding World of Harry Potter to life at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure.
The land will be filled with details fans will recognize from the films. One of these is the iconic 40-ft Viking statues that will tower over the entrance. The land promises to be bustling with dragons and even sheep!
Live Show
One surprise is that the Isle of Berk will include a live show. This show is called The Untrainable Dragon.
According to Universal, this dragon-filled live spectacular takes guests on an unforgettable journey with beloved characters Hiccup, Toothless, Gobber, and Astrid as they work together to solve the mystery of The Untrainable Dragon. Guests will be wowed by musical numbers and mystical dragons soaring overhead.
Meet Toothless
Guests can also meet characters in what promises to be an epic meet! You will be able to pose for photos with Hiccup and Toothless.
Also, be on the lookout for other characters throughout the day. You might just spot some Vikings!
Rides
Of course, everyone wants to know what kind of rides to expect in the Isle of Berk. Universal is planning three all-new attractions for the land.
Hiccup’s Wing Gliders is a family-thrill coaster. Step aboard a winged flying machine that will launch aspiring Dragon Riders into the sky for a dragon’s eye view of Berk!
Guests will experience what it is like to fly on a dragon! They will fly alongside Hiccup and Toothless and reach speeds up to 45 mph as they soar around the perimeter of Berk.
How to Train Your Dragon-Isle of Berk will feature 3 rides!
Next, get ready for Fyre Drill! This is a water ride, the likes of which you have probably never seen before. Here, teams of Vikings will compete to outscore and out-soak each other on this wet-and-wild boat battle!
Guests will blast water cannons to extinguish dragon fire in an attempt to score points as a team. You are sure to have a splashing good time.
Finally, step aboard Dragon Racer’s Rally-if you dare. This ride is designed to train aspiring dragon riders!
Vikings racers can practice high-speed barrel rolls as they reach heights of up to 67 feet in the air! Even better, riders can control how wild their experience is for themselves.
Play Area
Universal did not forget about the importance of play. The Isle of Berk will have even greater family appeal because it will include an immersive play area called Viking Training Camp!
Here, young Vikings can explore an interactive dragon playground. It will include a Viking agility course, a Toothless-themed teeter-totter, baby Gronckle dragon climbers and so much more.
Dining
If your days of training like a Viking have you working up a Viking-like appetite, never fear! Epic Universe will have food for you.
First, enjoy dining in the Mead Hall. Guests can feast upon savory menu offerings featuring a variety of meats, fish, sandwiches, and more along with a collection of meads and ciders.
If you would rather have something quick, head to Spit Fyre Grill. This eatery will overlook the action of the Fyre Drill water attraction!
Finally, look for snacks or quick bites at Hooligan’s Grog & Gruel. It is a food stand conveniently located at Viking Training Camp.
