Disney parks around the world are experiencing a tremendous amount of growth. At Disney World alone, we have seen the transformation of Epcot bring two new attractions.

Tokyo Disney just opened World of Frozen, and Disneyland Paris will see a name change and several new attractions.

One resort that needs some love is Disneyland in California. Given the size constraints, growth has been difficult. But, DisneylandForward looks to change all that.

The Walt Disney Company hopes that this new expansion will not only help the Disneyland Resort but that it will also help to rebuild the economy of Anaheim. Proposed way back in 2020, this project has been years in the making already. But, good things take time!

The DisneylandForward presentation years ago included concept art from Disney theme park projects around the globe. It offered “possibilities” of what future expansion could look like at the Disneyland Resort.

The projects presented included the Tangled, Frozen and Peter Pan themed lands coming to Tokyo Disneyland in Japan and the Zootopia themed land that recently opened at Shanghai Disneyland in China.

While there are no concrete IPs yet, this project is ready to move ahead in a big way! The Anaheim City Council voted to approve DisneylandForward. This will allow Disney to develop a new theme park, hotel, and entertainment!

This project will take several years (look at a few decades, at least), but we are excited for the growth that will happen at Disneyland.
