Disney has promised to invest billions into its theme parks. One area that seems to be receiving a lot of focus is Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Country Bear Musical Jamboree. Are there even more changes beyond that?
Plussing the Parks
In a recent new SEC filing, Disney shares it has really big plans to expand its theme parks, cruise ships, and more. And just how do they plan to do that? By doubling their investment to almost $60 BILLION dollars over the course of the next 10 years.
You can read more about those plans and what it will mean for your Disney vacation experience in this post.
THIS IS NEARLY TWICE THE AMOUNT SPENT IN THE LAST 10 YEARS.
Upcoming Projects
The Walt Disney Company has a lot of ground to cover with that 60 billion. In fact, there is over 1,000 acres of land for possible future projects across all of its existing sites – domestically and internationally.
To put that into perspective, that is the equivalent of about 7 new Disneyland Parks. Wow!
Disney is expanding its fleet of ships, revamping all of Dinoland USA, and still working towards the massive Disneyland Forward project. Another big area of focus appears to be right in the heart of Disney World: the Magic Kingdom
Frontierland
We all know about the opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure later this year, and we just shared the timeline for the new Country Bear Musical Jamboree show.
However, Disney teases that even more is headed to Frontierland. Could it be the “Beyond Big Thunder” Blue Sky project announced a few years ago? Or, could it be something else like the refurbishment of an attraction or restaurant?
Disney did not explicitly state what was coming up for Frontierland, but more will be announced in the future!

Viewing the satellite image, one can see some vacant land behind Frontier Land they could use to expand, but the road nearby would likely be a boundary and limit the expansion to a few acres usable of land.

All I see is Disney refurbishing and not adding! Everything they are doing is not relieving the stress of long lines. In fact their refurbishing is creating worse lines. In addition they are building MORE hotel rooms. How about immediate changes that will help with the crowds? How about adding more character meets and for longer hours? How about adding more parades instead of eliminating parades? What about the night time parades? What about adding character meals to all those hotels they have? What about adding entertainment to Disney Springs? There are so many things Disney can add immediately to add to the guests' enjoyment.
