By now most people are aware of the ongoing legal turmoil brewing between Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Dinsey. Now, since Disney and DeSantis are involved in MULTIPLE lawsuits, three to be exact, it is important to note that the federal lawsuit Disney waged against DeSantis is the one we are referencing today.

If you need to catch up on what is going on, here is some reading material for you. Disney sued DeSantis in federal court with claims that DeSantis was punishing the Walt Disney Company for practicing free speech. The Central Tourism District was appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis and prepares for a proposed 2024 budget meeting to take place later today, September 13, 2024.

One large budgetary change that is under review is the roadway repairs and maintenance budget for Walt Disney World. For 2023, this budget was set at $18.3 million with $16.6 million used of this budget. This budget is described as “Repairs and maintenance services decreased due to option to due (sic) less paving rehab.”

The Central Tourism District now proposes a drastic change for the 2024 budget meeting. Instead of $18.3 million, the newly proposed budget will be $13.4 million for the 2024 fiscal year.

Also in this meeting, they will discuss other budgetary cuts including the the removal of employee benefits, which the CFTOD claims was simply a “scheme” by Disney to funnel taxpayer money back to its own company.

They will also propose a budget of over $5 million for the 2024 financial year to cover litigation fees against the Walt Disney Company. Read more about this high price tag HERE.

It will be interesting to see the final outcome at this budgetary meeting later today.

What do you think of this cut to roadway work? Do you agree with these changes? What do you think of the high price tag for the legal battle with the Walt Disney Company? Share your thoughts with us and share this news with your Disney pals.

What did people think would happen when a fascist "took control" of WDW? It won't stop with cutting the road budget; his phony board will find ways to cut anything they can. Maintenance and safety will be next.

I understand his thinking, how does one business get away without paying their fair share, however I truly believe Disney should have been grandfathered in. The deal was made so many years ago it should stay as is. Orlando and Kissimmee would be nothing without Disney. My goodness, families have to take out a second mortgage to afford a week stay much less just a couple of days. What will this mean? In crease in prices again, I have to assume.

So they cut back the road budget so they can pay for the legal fees.

As usual, when the government tries to flex, the taxpayers get harmed. Road budget is actually pretty important around Disney with all the busses driving around all day.
