Disney has had its share of conflict recently and this has translated to a record low now!
Roller Coaster Ride
It is no secret that Disney stock has been a bit of a rollercoaster. And while this may seem fitting for a brand known in part for its world-class theme parks, it is certainly not a fun ride for investors.
When former Disney CEO Bob Chapek was fired and Bog Iger replaced him, many investors were hopeful to positive changes for the company and theme parks. As a matter fact, days after he returned, Disney stocks unsurprisingly saw a huge rise.
However, this was short lived as stocks took another hit in December 2022. In fact, it dropped more than 4% and was at its lowest point since 2020.
Earnings Call
At the earnings call earlier this month, Bob Iger shared that Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Disney Parks, Experiences and Products revenue for the 3rd quarter increased 13% to $8.3 billion. Per the earnings call, this is due to increases at international parks and the Disney Cruise Line.
However, Disney had lower results at domestic theme parks and products. During the earnings call, Disney blamed inflation and the closure of the Galactic Starcruiser at Disney World.
Iger stated, “Lower volumes were due to decreases in occupied room nights and attendance.” In other words, not as many people are going to domestic theme parks or staying at Disney Resorts.
Today’s Valuation
Today, The Walt Disney Company’s stock reached not only a year low, but its also the lowest stock valuation since 2014! You heard that right! As of this afternoon, the DIS stock is listed at $82.75 with a low price of $82.73.
DIS stock has reached of $82.75 today. This is the lowest price in nearly a decade!

People want to get away from all the woke nonsense .especially when their young children are being exposed to this. Also to navigate genie plus and lightning lane …it is ridiculous, which also adds hundreds of dollars more to the cost of your already high prices tickets

They need to go back to Walt's vision. Family parks, family entertainment at affordable pricing. Go woke go broke. Maybe China can bail them out.

Agree with Michael. However, staying on site doesn't necessarily mean you can have an enjoyable vacation anymore.
