It’s no secret international Disney Parks have been performing better than Disney Parks here in the United States. Disney World takes the first step to getting better and more entertainment.

Recent Earnings Report

Earlier this month, Disney held their 3rd quarter report. Disney Parks, Experiences and Products’ revenue for the 3rd quarter increased 13% to $8.3 billion. Per the earnings call, this is due to increases at international parks and the Disney Cruise Line.

Disney announced lower results at domestic theme parks and products. During that earnings call, Disney blamed inflation and the closure of the Galactic Starcruiser at Disney World.

Disney CEO Bob Iger stated, “Lower volumes were due to decreases in occupied room nights and attendance.” In other words, not as many people are going to domestic theme parks or staying at Disney Resorts.

Iger shared that he believes three businesses will drive the greatest growth in value over the next five years: film studios, parks business and streaming. It appears the domestic parks department may be getting a head start on increasing growth.

Disneyland Paris has great entertainment, including an incredible drone show! They are coming off a great 30th anniversary celebration as well. One of the men in charge of that, David Duffy, is coming to Disney World!

He previously served as Vice President of Entertainment at Disneyland Paris, and he will step into that same role for The Walt Disney World Resort. Duffy has been with Disney for over 30 years, and his roles include show director, writer, artistic director, and creative director.

After two failed shows, Enchantment and Harmonious, plus no nighttime show at Animal Kingdom, Disney World is arguably in need of a great entertainment makeover. Hopefully great things are to come with David Duffy bringing his experience and creative expertise.

The thing with the character lines is that there is a potential for mobbing.

Bring back the Main Street Electrical night time parade! Not only did this parade light up the entire park with its music - it made the lines on many of the rides so much shorter. Also, bring back characters walking around the park. Lots of characters!!! Or at least start character visiting earlier - not at 10am. All Disney is doing now is creating more and more lines to wait on. Same as the railroad stopping at 5 pm or even 7 pm. What's with that? And how about more breakfast fast food places with tables, chairs and shade. Not just cakes and donuts. And why does Tom Sawyer Island open at 11 am - same time as their character parade? With little ones - 11 am is too close for lunch with no food available on the island. All of these things would give people an opportunity to do other things than wait on lines.

There's just one problem. Where will it go.
