Haunted Mansion Attraction
The Haunted Mansion is a popular attraction at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. The Haunted Mansion has become an iconic and beloved attraction known for its spooky theme and immersive experience.
Throughout the ride, while riding in a Doom Buggy, guests encounter a wide range of ghostly scenes. They also have many ghostly characters, including the famous hitchhiking ghosts. The storyline revolves around a group of happy haunts excited to welcome new “foolish mortals” into their supernatural world. The attraction balances spooky and lighthearted, making it suitable for visitors of all ages.
Haunted Mansion Film
Disney previously produced a Haunted Mansion film in 2003, starring Eddie Murphy. It was a comedic take on the attraction. It featured a story about a real estate agent and his family encountering various supernatural events in a haunted mansion.
Releasing in theatres July 28, 2023, the brand new Haunted Mansion film will feature LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Rosario Dawson, Chase W. Dillon, Dan Levy, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Jared Leto.
Inspired by the classic theme park attraction, a single mother and her son move into a mansion only to find it haunted. To combat the spirits, they hire a former paranormal investigator turned tour guide, a priest, a psychic, and a college history professor.
The PG-13 was filmed in New Orleans, Atlanta, and Trilith Studios and was previously scheduled for March 10, 2023, and then August 11, 2023. As part of the marketing for the film, three of the film’s cast members were in Disneyland last month, acting as Honorary Cast Members at the attraction.
Three Cast Members Surprised Guests
Disney invited Owen Wilson, LaKeith Stanfield, and Jamie Lee Curtis to be honorary cast members for the day to take over their favorite Disney attraction, The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland Park.
This morning’s video, released throughout social media, begins with all three actors dressed in traditional Cast Member Haunted Mansion outfits getting ready to greet guests. Their reactions and the guests who were in for a surprise were spooktacular! Take a look at the video below!
Actors have been known to be invited to Disney to be honorary cast members for films and projects. Johnny Depp, who plays Captain Jack Sparrow in the thrilling Pirates of the Caribbean movies, donned his costume at Disneyland Park to surprise guests while they rode the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at Disneyland Park.

Nice article! The Haunted Mansion was not one of the original Disneyland rides when opened in 1955, however. Foolish mortals had to wait until 1969 to ride!
