It is pretty hard to plan a trip without securing at least one dining reservation. In order to do that, you need to book reservations either online or in the My Disney Experience app.

This is your go-to application for all things in Walt Disney World. Even though it may not run as smoothly as we all hope sometimes, some of us Disney pros consider ourselves experts with navigating the app. It is important to have a basic understanding of the app prior to your Disney World vacation.

Like with many things at Walt Disney World, Disney is constantly updating the app and adding new features to make your experience at Disney more enjoyable! Sometimes they are welcome improvements and other times, it might be a huge learning curve for some.

Seating Options

For many families and parties, seating options might make all the difference in the dining experience. Do you prefer sitting at a table? Or is a booth better for your party? Or maybe neither of those things matter, and you just want whatever is First Available.

Some guests are reporting that they have noticed a NEW option in My Disney Experience after checking into a restaurant. After checking in, an option will now pop up and ask you for a seating preference. Options include “Booth”, “Table” or “First Available”.

Seating options are now available in My Disney Experience at various dining locations throughout Walt Disney World.

Disney does make the following notation when selecting an option: “Seating preference is not guaranteed and may affect the estimated wait time displayed above.”

While this option is available at some restaurants, it might not be available at others. It appears that Disney is slowly rolling out this feature at this time.
