Booking Room Reservations

One of the most fun (but also stressful) aspects of booking at Disney World vacation is choosing your hotel. First, you have to decide whether to stay onsite or offsite. I (Monica) am partial to onsite because of the proximity to the parks and the ease of transportation in getting there. Plus, I also just really enjoy being in that “Disney Bubble.”

Then, you need to decide which category to book. Is your budget a bit tight or do you only intend to be in the room to sleep and shower? A value resort is probably best for your needs! Do you want to enjoy the hotel amenities and activities? A deluxe resort would be an excellent choice! Maybe you want the best of both worlds? A moderate resort is the perfect blend of value and deluxe.

Be sure to check out my ranking of resorts in each category: value, moderate, deluxe.

Room Views

Once you have your resort chosen, next it’s time to pick our your room view! These views will vary based on the resort and may include standard view, water view, theme park view, and more. You may have views of the parking lot, the pool, a theme park, or woods.

Views vary in price as well. If you do not care much about the view outside your window, I would consider a standard view. However, if you want to spend a lot of time in your room, a nicer view may be more important to you.

Changes to Room Views

It can be a bit confusing because there are so many views. Disney is now simplifying the process a bit by renaming the views for most deluxe resort hotels. Now, you will find three views: theme park view, water view, resort view.

Note that this is for deluxe resorts ONLY and not every deluxe resort made the change, so just be aware of this when you book.

Disney renamed most deluxe resort room views.

Deb's comment is not odd. She has a right to voice her opinion. Lots of Disney fans feel this way. Just not the same as precovid...the magic has been taken away. Had high hopes when Iger returned, but not many positive changes have materialized yet. Sad.

Why do any of us need to know that, Deb? If you don’t want to visit, great. The fact you were compelled to post this in the comments is odd.

Not ready to come back to Disney yet. We used to spend $20k+ every other year on WDW trips. No more. We’ve found other wonderful USA destinations that are worthy of our family vacation dollars. I’ll reconsider if and when Disney reverts to the old Disney.
