TRON is a coaster like none other in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom. This attraction is so different than other attractions, so be sure to check out everything that you need to know about riding TRON HERE.

Tron Lightcycle/Run officially opens today, April 4, 2023. However, from March 20th through April 2nd, guests had the early opportunity to experience TRON Lightcycle/Run during a limited soft opening.

A virtual queue will be utilized with TRON Lightcycle / Run. Guests will need to use the My Disney Experience app to reserve a space for the attraction. A standby queue will not be available. Each Guest can enter the virtual queue no more than once per day during regular park hours.

Boarding groups for a virtual queue are limited, subject to availability, and are not guaranteed. Not all boarding groups may be called to return, based on the availability of the experience.

BIG Update

Guests receive notifications when their boarding group is called.  In the past, guests could return at any time after their Boarding Group was called. We experienced this at both Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and also Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

During the soft opening, guests were told that they must return during their Boarding Group return time. If they arrive later, they were turned away. A Cast Member working on this attraction confirmed this. Now Disney has made this an official policy for this attraction.

Disney now states “Late arrivals may not be accommodated.” It is important to note that Boarding Group return times may be called way earlier than what is estimated when first joining a Boarding Group.

Disney now states that “Late arrivals may not be accommodated” with Boarding Groups for TRON Lighcylce/Run.

Many were hoping this change simply applied to the soft opening, but now it is official that guests have an hour window to return for their boarding group to enjoy TRON Lightcycle at the Magic Kingdom.

What do you think of this change? Have you experienced joining a boarding group for TRON? How will this affect your next trip to Magic Kingdom? Share your thoughts with us in the comment section and share this update with a fellow Disney pal.

No, it wasn't. We arrived late for our boarding group on Rise several times.

It was always like that with Rise of Resistance. Whatever!

This is just one more reason we will avoid Magic Kingdom. I love Hagrid's at Universal, so Tron is not on my bucket list. Hopefully, Disney won't change the return time for Guardians.
