EPCOT’s International Festival of the Arts is here now through February 20, 2023. From dozens of food and beverage items to fun photos and a special light show on Spaceship Earth. This is a guest favorite festival that allows you to truly be immersed in so many varieties of art.

Be sure to check out everything NEW for this year’s festival. You can also find all of the menus for the many food locations HERE. Guests can pick up a paintbrush and join together with fellow artists to create a beautiful mural at the Expression Section. Be sure to check out full details of this experience HERE.

However, there is also another fun artistic experience at the Festival of Arts.

Chalk Art

For years, chalk art is a favorite among guests at the Festival of the Arts. Several artists will create masterpieces with simple chalk throughout the festival. One of my (Donna) favorite chalk artists is Leigh Alfredson. Over the years I have enjoyed seeing many of my favorite characters come alive in her chalk art drawings.

During this year’s festival, I was delighted to be able to meet Leigh Alfredson. She was working on a whimsical drawing of Alice in Wonderland.

She invited me and fellow guests to grab a piece of chalk and join in on another masterpiece. Leigh blocked off and sketched a drawing and guests could help fill in this sketch with chalk.

Typically the area where the chalk art is located is blocked off with ropes to help preserve them. Now guests can step past the ropes to join in the art.

This is the finished masterpiece that was created by both Leigh Alfredson and fellow EPCOT guests. There are no set times for this experience, but this is one that you will want to join if you can.

Typically the area where the chalk art is located is blocked off with ropes to help preserve them. Now guests can step past the ropes to join in the art.
