Figment is a small purple dragon that is a figment of everyone’s imagination. On March 5, 1983, the brand new attraction “Journey Into the Imagination” opened at FutureWorld in Epcot. It introduced and featured both Figment and the Dreamfinder. Since then, fans of nostalgic Epcot keep a special place in their heart for him.

Well known Disney Imagineer and Legend Tony Baxter created Figment. To learn more about Baxter and his contributions and achievements at The Walt Disney Company, read Jaelyn’s article HERE.

Figment has a huge following and is loved by Guests around the world. Now, he it appears he is finally getting his own movie!

Figment is getting his own film!

The feature hails from Seth Rogen’s Point Grey with Pokémon Detective Pikachu‘s Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit set to write, Deadline has learned. The feature will not be Figment’s first time on the big screen, however. He made cameo appearances in 2015’s Inside Out and 2019’s Toy Story 4, according to Deadline.

Unfortunately, we do not have any further information about plot or release timeline. At the same time, I do not think that it’s unfair to make diehard fans of Figment wait a bit longer. After all, the famous Figment bucket caused massive waits at Epcot earlier this year!

A movie based off the Figment character is reportedly in the works.
