Disney Parades
Parades are a special part of the Disney magic. We all have fond memories of certain parades that have come and gone in the parks over the years. Each one had a special charm and magic of its own. They were all unique in their design and story. Some were heavy on Disney IP, some were original concepts, and others were nighttime light spectaculars.
What makes Disney parades stand out among other theme parks is the intense dedication to storytelling. Every parade has a unique story to share with guests and we love how they tug at our heartstrings and help us feel like little kids again.

Disney Holding Auditions for New Parade Performers
Recently, we noticed on the Disney auditions website that Disney is looking for parade performers for both dancer and look-alike roles for the Disneyland Resort in California. According to the posting, Disney is seeking the following performers:
“Individuals of ALL heights for dancer & look-alike roles. Looking for technically strong, trained dancers who are comfortable learning many styles of choreography. Must be adept at making an emotional connection with the audience. Performers should be willing to demonstrate a full range of body movement and animation skills.”
Requirements:
- Must be fully available for rehearsals, which will start at the beginning of January 2023
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Performers must be at least 18 years of age and a high school graduate
- Current Disneyland® Resort Cast Members DO NOT need to attend
- Flexible availability is preferred
A few things that stood out to us in this posting is the wide range of height casting. This indicates that Disney is looking to hire a lot of new performers to fit a wide variety of characters. The next requirement to stand out is the timeline.
The posting indicates that the rehearsals for the parade will start at the beginning of January 2023. That’s after the Halloween and Christmas seasons end and after the final run of the Main Street Electrical Parade on September 1st. All of these clues could point to a new parade coming to Disneyland, rather than Disney looking to fill spots for special upcoming holiday entertainment.
With The D23 Expo coming up just around the corner, we may get an announcement of what the new parade could be, or maybe an old favorite is coming back!
