It has been quite a morning with the new Disney Genie system. There is so much new information to take in. Many have wondered when you can make a second selection for both Individual Lightning Lane and Lightning Lane. Find out what we have discovered so far with our new pal Disney Genie.

Individual Lightning Lane is a paid system priced per person per attraction. You can select up to two headliners per day to ride using this option.

There is also the Genie+ which is a one day fee where you can access even more selections. We have now confirmed that access for Genie+ is now $15.98 per day per Guest (including tax). See which attractions are included in this Lightning Lane access HERE.

As if this wasn’t enough to take in there is also the Individual Lightning Lane which offers Disney most popular attractions for an additional fee. This morning, Disney revealed the pricing for each of these attractions. Check these out HERE.

When to Book Additional Attractions

Prior to Park opening, after Guests purchase Lightning Lane they may make their first Lightning Lane selection for the day. Review the frustrations that our very own Kenny the Pirate encountered when he tried to make a Lighting Lane selection earlier this morning.

Not only was this frustrating, but Guests who purchased the Lightning Lane were unable to book a second attraction. When Kenny the Pirate tried to make an additional Lightning Lane selection, he was given an error screen.

Once the Park officially opens, Guests are then given 2 options to make their 2nd Lightning Lane selection. First, they may make another Lightning Lane selection after they have used their existing Lightning Lane attraction pass.

Second, they will be eligible for a second Lightning Lane selection 120 minutes after Park opening or of their new Lightning Lane selection time.

After Park opening, Guests will be eligible for a second Lightning Lane selection 120 minutes after Park opening or of their new Lightning Lane selection time.

What do you think of this new Disney Genie system? What do you think of the timing for booking a 2nd Lightning Lane selection? Will you be purchasing the Lightning Lane? Share your thoughts with us on our Facebook Page.

In theory, could you hold several lighting lane passes by booking them at 7am (if staying onsite) and 120 minutes later and not actually enter the park until 2pm and therefore have several passes all planned for when you arrive at 2pm? What is the interval that lightning lane passes cannot overlap (are they all one hour duration and therefore need to be one hour apart)

If Disney seriously think I will stand around for 2 hours waiting to make a second selection they are misguided. I booked Fastpass back to back. I have no intention of standing around buying tat merch and paying stupid prices for crap food. I don’t have kids and can afford it. However not daft enough to pay it. In the UK we call it ‘taking the piss’
